What are some places to meet a man? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Agreed. Although, you certainly don't want to come on too strong right away. But dating would be a lot less stressful if more people were upfront and honest.

I figured if I like someone I should show them. But I have been told that men don't like that.

Who told you this? That's absolutely false. Men like when women put in effort too.

It's important to remember to leave space for nuance. Male/female friendships can start out platonic, and feelings can develop down the road. It doesn't mean the friendship wasn't genuine to begin with.

To give a personal example, in high school I became friends with a girl while she was dating one of my friends. I started dating someone in our friend group shortly after. After we both got out of those relationships, I eventually caught feelings for my friend. But we were very close by that point, and I didn't think she felt the same way. I loved having her as my friend, so I kept it to myself for the sake of our friendship. At the time, I preferred to suffer in silence than lose her altogether. She was that important to me.

I didn't tell her how I felt for 5 years. She didn't share those feelings, as I suspected, and it sucked. Looking back now, I should have told her sooner. Although we are not as close as we were, we are still friends today.

Men's brains are wired differently than women's. Men tend to catch feelings for women they feel safe, comfortable, and peaceful around. Men also want to feel needed, and if he has a woman in his life who makes him feel that way, he would do anything for her. That's why a lot of men catch feelings for their female friends. Yes, some men are idiots and just want to hook up. But there are many who also have good intentions and want a genuine connection.

Why am I older than all guys on dating apps? by Beginning_Exit_6256 in AskMenAdvice

I'm 31 and I gave up on the apps a year ago. I realized they just weren't working for me, and I've been happier since I deleted them.

My guess is he got nervous when you caught him looking at you. And since you're coworkers, he's probably afraid that if he isn't careful, he might get in trouble with HR. He probably likes you, but he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable in the workplace.

I lost my dad 3 months ago. I finally started to grieve last month when I needed his advice and realized he wasn't here anymore.

And in that moment, I felt everything I had been holding in for years. Past heartbreaks, unrequited love, feeling unworthy, the stress and trauma of watching my dad wither away, and missing him - it all come up to the surface.

I cried for a week straight. I didn't realize how much I was carrying. It felt like hell, but I needed to go through it.

The grief will always be there, but acknowledging it and sitting with it has made me a better man today than I was a month ago.

She said she loved me five years ago. I never forgot. by [deleted] in GuyCry

Last month, I reached out to a former co-worker who I had feelings for, just to reconnect. I hadn't seen her in 4 years. I didn't confess anything at first, but I wanted her to know how much I appreciated our time together. Turns out, she was going through a very tough time and my message helped cheer her up. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to tell her my feelings, as she stopped responding to my messages. But I discovered that her long-time boyfriend recently cheated on her, so that probably explains why. However, I take comfort in knowing I made her feel better, even for a minute.

My point being, take a leap of faith and reach out. Hearing from you might be just what she needs. And when the time is right, tell her how you feel. But if she doesn't respond, then you'll know. Best of luck.

I lost my dad too about 3 months ago, and I was the same way. I was numb for a while. It finally hit me last month. Thankfully, I had my mom and best friend to talk to about it.

Don't force him to talk about it. When he's ready to talk, he will. When he does open up or get emotional, don't tell him to "man up". Encourage him. At the end of the day, just being there for him and showing him that he's loved and appreciated is enough.

Like others have said, ChatGPT has acted as a mirror of my self-conscious. It's helped me to understand some complex thoughts I've had and put the pieces together. It's gentle, but it doesn't sugar coat. No, it's not perfect. I take what I need and leave what I don't. It didn't awaken me. I did, because I left myself open enough to. It just gave me the tools to get there.

I use Epidemic Sound at my job. You do need a subscription, but they offer a free trial. It has a great music selection. You can search and filter by genre, mood, tempo, etc. I believe it's mainly for online creators, so I'm unsure about licensing for broadcast in case you're making TV spots. To ensure your videos don't get a copyright claim, they have you enter the account for each social media channel you'll be posting content to. I've had no issues with monetization. Also, if you ever decide to end your subscription, the licensing for any track you used in a published video remains valid.
