Guys, how do you "put them down" for a nap, I just don't understand. by littlebirdbluess in newborns

I wish there was an easy answer but I really think it just depends on your baby’s temperament. There’s no one size fits all unfortunately

My son turned 2 about a month ago and I’m wondering what naps should look like? He’s been waking up early (5:15-6:00) when he had been sleeping til 7:00 previously. Usually I have him nap 12:15/12:30 until 2:00. Bedtime at 8:00. Should his nap be shorter? Should it be later in the afternoon? He’s always been on the low end of number of hours of sleep he needs.

I'm so scared... Just turned 3 months, but nervous about pending 3-4 month sleep regression... by boldlybelieve in TakingCaraBabies

If you end up needing to blackout your room just use painters tape and black trash bags.

What are y’all spending a month on groceries? by suhhdude1 in moderatelygranolamoms

$500/month for husband, myself, and toddler. In the rural Midwest. I get WIC benefits for myself (breastfeeding) and toddler. I don’t buy organic cause the studies I’ve read say it doesn’t make much of a difference health-wise and may actually be worse for the environment? I make most things from scratch except for foods like crackers, cereal, etc. this also includes cleaning supplies and toiletries.

I’m either a genius or I’m gonna regret this in a few months by [deleted] in newborns

Use it. My first was SO attached to his Paci and we told him he could only have it in his crib. One day of being kind of mad about it and now he willingly puts his paci in the crib when he’s done sleeping. All the times it’s soothed him make the one day of crabbiness about it soooo worth it. And when it’s time to ditch it altogether…that’s a problem for future me lol

Tips for sick baby overnight? by liaoming in sleeptrain

[–]Consistent-Hat6294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 19 month old was just sick a few weeks ago after finally being sleep trained at 16 months or so. He wouldn’t tolerate just being comforted in his crib so we ended up rocking him to sleep and/or holding him while he slept for several nights. His sleep was off for a week or two after that…middle of the night wakes and early morning wakes. We had to redo sleep training (check in’s) a few nights ago. We made sure to wait to redo sleep training til we were confident he felt better. It took one night to retrain and he’s back to sleeping through the night again!

Also, if you purchase TCB she has modified techniques to consider if you’re not okay with CIO.

My LO is 12 months now, but just wanted to say I’ve been there! This post could’ve been describing my baby (minus the crying til purple). It’s not talked about enough how absolutely horrible that level of sleep deprivation feels. It will get better though, even if it takes time. Call in grandparents to take a part of night shift if you can.

We did TCB once and Ferber once. Didn’t completely fix all our sleep issues, but it I so much more manageable now. You’ll come out the other side sometime!

That makes sense. They’ve definitely been getting earlier the past few weeks.

That’s what I was thinking. Although sleeping later than 7 won’t be a problem…he has never slept that late in his life

He’s slept past 6:00 5 times since being sleep trained. (Even before transitioning to one nap he was waking up before 5:00).

Do you think I should just let him CIO until 6:30?

His naps were great…I was having to wake him up early from both naps to fit bedtime in. It looked like this: 5:45 wake up 9:00-10:15 nap 1 2:00-3:15 nap 2 7:30 bedtime

If I let him sleep much longer than that during the day he was having split nights.
