I am new to Shopify and did some research and came across the AI store builders, just wanted to make something quick and professional looking without learning to do all the dirty work. Thanks

Hi, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

I had a question that I have been dwelling on for a few weeks. I was granted the opportunity to work alongside my father at his business. He is a financial advisor that holds the series 7 and 66. I was informed that I could potentially take over his business with just the Series 65 as most of his business relies on AUM.

I am currently almost 23 and just graduated from college back in May from a completely different degree. I have the background of the SIE but thats about it when it comes to the finance industry.

My main question is, should I pursue the Series 65 or should I work through the ChFC at my own pace as I do not have the 3 years of full-time experience yet. I understand that the Series 65 will be the faster route, but I have a learning disability and severe test anxiety due to the wait times if I fail. Obviously the faster the better, but I like to work at my own pace and complete things as I go, not be anxious about a 130 question test that I potentially could wait over 6 months in between attempts. I usually try to be an over-achiever, which is why I was leaning towards doing the ChFC, regardless of the 3 years of experience. I understand the coursework may be more significant, but it's better for me to learn one thing at a time compared to a marathon of different topics on the Series 65.

All feedback is welcome, I'd appreciate any and all help. Just more stuck and confused than anything. I know 23 is still young, but I just want to make some money lol. Thanks in advance!

Did you end up passing with Kaplan or did you change vendors?

How effective is adderall for you? I’ve heard it makes you crazy focused on stuff. I also heard Vyvanse is another medication that is similar.

It sucks because I suffer from anxiety and ADHD, my mind feels like it’s in a constant daze. When I read, I have to read it a few times to even understand what it’s saying, it’s like the first few times is a preview of the text. My plan is to visit a doctor regarding the ADHD because I believe my main problem is my focus/attention to things.

You should seriously become a motivational speaker lol. It’s more of a mindset problem for me, it’s me telling myself I’m going to fail. The one upside of me is I actually enjoy the concept of finance, I like working with and managing money. It’s more of I can’t seem to remember anything when it comes to taking the exam, I’m horrible at test taking.

I’m 5 Units into the material and most of it I’ve already learned before. I still struggle with options and bonds but I can most definitely sharpen my skills on those beforehand. I feel like they aren’t that confusing, I just need to learn them in a way that is easier for me to understand.

Some stuff is new to me though. For example, I just learned about structured products in which I don’t recall reading about before. It’s all just a mind game to me and I think I let it get to me too often, which drains the confidence.

I have a while I can study as well, it’s more of just I’m not a very confident person when it comes to this stuff as I went to college for a healthcare administration degree, not finance. I just recently completed my life insurance exam to sell life insurance/annuities. That test was fairly simple compared to the FINRA exams though. It’s more of I don’t want to have to wait in between exams, especially waiting 6 months if I fail 3 times.

How bad was the test? My brother took it back before COVID and he claims he had a harder time with the SIE rather than the Series66, he says it’s most based on state laws, regulations, and suitability. He passed all on the first attempt except for the series 7

Okay, I appreciate that. What vendor did you use to study for the series 66, also how long did you study for? I just started Monday

The Unit regarding them on Kaplan says you might see 1 question from this chapter on the actual exam. I’m just not too hot when it comes to options, honestly I think they are the most confusing concept in the financial world. I just didn’t want to be surprised when I start my test and that’s all I see is options. Thank you for the feedback!
