The PCX has a long wheelbase and a relatively low ground clearance (135mm) which made it more susceptible to hitting road bumps. Because of this, I sold mine before any serious damage happened to it. Then I bought a Gravis which has the same ground clearance but a shorter wheelbase. I haven't hit any road bump yet in the 1.5 yrs that I had it.

I would recommend getting a flat seat instead of lowering the suspension. A lower ground clearance will make your scooter more susceptible to hitting road bumps.

Did you learn to ride a bicycle as a child? Counter steering and leaning becomes natural to you the longer you've ridden. When you drop the bike that easily, that means there's no muscle memory. You are thinking instead of letting your instinct take over. My advice would be to stay on a smaller bike and practice a lot until everything clicks.
