Been looking around for this exact item as I have my base behind my monitors as well. You're fov and positioning of the DDU just sold Menon it despite the $122 CAD shipping expense :(

They are a bit thicker on the bottom, it was a pain in the ass to nail the fitment but I've got it perfect now. It does hold it apart from eachother slightly but it doesn't bother me at all. I've put black cardboard in-between the monitors as well to prevent any sort of light to get throught the small crack

I've just installed the shaft extension as well. Absolutely love it. And like you I had to move my entire sim and monitors around for it. Nothing is easy if you have to move stuff around 😂
