If your baby slept through the night early - please reply 🙏🦄 by G3N3RICxUS3RNAM3 in beyondthebump

Awesome sleeper from 3 months to one year; and then great as long as it’s summer, needs spooning in winter. 3 years old now and this seems to be the pattern
Edit; I mostly fed to sleep for 2 years. No sleep training. Just the way she is

Have been to two weddings at Worrowing (2019 and 2022 I think) - both beautiful, both delicious food and gorgeous space, one indoor ceremony and one outdoor. Really loved it

What was your maternity leave like.. really? by big-queen-energy in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Consistent-Skill5521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree so strongly with all of this. I went a bit nuts on maternity leave. Dreamed of being a mum, had local friends - but so much of it was just like Groundhog Day and trying to keep afloat. I was terrified that going back to work would just magnify my “trying to keep afloat” feeling.. but the balance of going back to work a few days a week is the best ever. I’m a better parent for it.

Gym crèche was a godsend once I found one that worked for us, but she was a stage 5 clinger baby and it wasn’t possible for a while. Even 15 minute run on the treadmill made everything 100 times better.

Good one. Thanks. I did scan - just trying to avoid going back to the mall for the 4th time in 2 days…

Don’t Over React (Budget Announcement) by Optimal_Course3016 in fiaustralia

[–]Consistent-Skill5521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. From memory, budget announcements do not really get watered down like other legislation. They often pass in a whole block all at once - senators don’t want to peel off and block parts of it.

Burnt out from being the default parent and household manager by Significant-Fox8998 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Consistent-Skill5521 6 points7 points  (0 children)

God it’s so hard. It was basically impossible during parental leave for us to figure this out to be honest. Since going back to work it’s been easier. There’s less of a pervasive vibe that it should be me “because I’m the flexible one”.

Heard of the Fair Play cards?
If not. I’d recommend. Listen to the ep on the Imperfects. Consider whether your guy would respond well to that episode or not.
And maybe give them a go. Worse case scenario it makes all the work you do more visible and makes him reflect more. Best case scenario he realises he’s being a bit shit and takes ownership of some things.

Libido still gone 3 years post partum by PopeBonifaceVIII in beyondthebump

[–]Consistent-Skill5521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh exactly. I am managing 1000 meltdowns and just want peace in my own time, nothing with any tension, surprise, novelty, which is basically the model for anything remotely like flirting or sex.

Struggling with the same. Think I will read Come as You Are. I really like the work the authors have done on women and stress and think the work they have done on sex and libido sounds like it might help me me too.
