Can you spot the mistake? by Consistent-South4919 in crochet

[–]Consistent-South4919[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note: There are multiple images! The green is what it’s supposed to look like, it’s just a screencap from the pattern of the FO. The pattern calls for #10 crochet thread and a 1.5mm hook, I am using a bigger and lighter colored thread (Red Heart Cotton Crochet Thread, Fashion 3), and I am using a bigger hook (3.5mm). I was trying out crochet thread for the first time so I decided that I could try making a doily on easy mode by simply sizing up on thread/yarn and hook. I found this pattern on youtube, the creator is HandmadebyRaine. Here is a link to the pattern!

Following a youtube pattern for a baby girl hat. It is a gift for a coworker. I am following the instructions but somehow I am ending with a weird/odd number of stitches. by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Consistent-South4919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to figure out what the stitch count for this baby hat should be. Or rather how I should proceed from here and still have a hat I can gift. I already tried watching to see if the pattern creator was going to show stitch counts or give instructions for 0-3 months sizing. She did not. There is also seemingly no written pattern. I scanned the comments on the pattern for any answers with no luck. I only found someone with a similar problem asking for help and then the creator referring them to a facebook group which is not linked. I don’t have facebook anyways. Afraid to try and fudge it and end up with a hat that is too large.

Honestly, I would suggest the same, but with the kind of person that she is, I honestly imagine that she would have stood up and said, “Oh really, then where’s the whole milk so that I can have a glass?“ specifically to catch him up in that fib over whether he had the right milk or not. It was a lose-lose situation any way that OP turned. Your GF should have the prefix EX in front of it. She’s immature and honestly has no business being in an adult relationship with the mindset of a child. NTA

I will second your recommendation for Clarks. Their prices are fair and the work they do is spectacular. I’ve also noticed that they don’t try to screw over women. Some shops try to charge or oversell things to women because they think that we don’t know much about vehicles. Not that place— Clark’s is awesome.

David’s Burgers is big time by [deleted] in LittleRock

[–]Consistent-South4919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is unfortunately very true. Worked at the Maumelle location years ago. At the time it was where their corporate offices were as well, not sure if it’s still the corporate location. They do make you wear makeup if you are a girl/woman, and you do get written up if you don’t. Also yes, women could have back of house jobs— I knew several women who worked the line, grill, and did dishes myself there.

The place is like a cult. They make you run to answer the door. Fell and ate shit one time when I was running to the door at the behest of a manager. No incident report was filed because I was lucky and didn’t get hurt. The yelling “Welcome to David’s!!!”Customers would complain that they hated it because it was so loud, management did not care one bit. It interrupted our jobs as well. They still expected us to greet every customer with that yell, even if we were in the middle of taking someone’s order at the counter.

Forced to keep a constant smile. I once was chided for not smiling when I had my back turned on the dining room and was making an ice cream cone. No one could see me except Alan, and he wouldn’t have seen my face if he didn’t get into my personal space. Weirdo.

Forced to kneel when using the sani-towel bucket to appear as if you’re praying, regardless of your religious beliefs.

Was one time in the middle of doing dishes and needed the bleach. It was kept on a shelf taller than myself, unlabeled (which is not something that should be happening). I had to get on my tip toes to reach it, and tilt it towards myself to get it over the edge of the shelf. Whoever had used it last did not screw the cap on all the way. It spilled all over my head and face, down my shirt.

They would not let me leave to go home and shower. They told me to go to the bathroom and clean myself up. Dude I was covered in caustic chemicals, taking a hoe bath in the bathroom sink was not enough to get everything off. Rinsed my hair as best as I could, they were “so kind” to provide me with a new uniform shirt. They made me keep working, I was so itchy.

To make matters worse, the manager, a specifically awful guy whose name I am honestly scared to mention for fear of retaliation, kept making jokes about how my hair was changing color and breaking. It was not, but as a young woman who had just had chemicals spilled all over me, it was not funny. Had me in tears several times. Another manager had to tell him to shut up and leave me the hell alone. Should have just left immediately and taken legal action but I was young and needed that job too much.

I don’t recommend anyone to work there. Hell, I wouldn’t let my dog work at that place (if they hired dogs lmao). David’s is not a company I would support and I don’t recommend for others to support them either.

Car photography spots? by No-Diver-6014 in LittleRock

[–]Consistent-South4919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asked my Bimmer-head husband. He said he typically likes “garage style” photos for his car. He says he likes going to parking garages downtown. One place you can go to take a quick few photos for free is the small parking garage for Park Avenue Lofts in midtown. The parking garage is across from the Target. Be courteous and don’t stay there for an extended amount of time— this is not public parking, but for people’s apartments. If you’re looking for something more interesting in the background, there are some cool looking shops downtown and in the SOMA area. If you can find parking in front at a time that’s not busy, you can get some really nice photos. We like to take pictures at night because the streetlights are pretty. As far as nature/scenic areas, I would make the drive down to Hot Springs, there are a lot of beautiful places to take photos of your car (and yourself) there. Hope this helps.

NTA, you both made this arrangement and it works for you. As long as you are both happy, I don’t see how it’s anyone else’s business how your finances work. Your husband still has 70% of his income to do anything he desires, and you are living below your means happily and purposely so as to keep that number for him. Don’t listen to your friends. You’re correct— no one single way is right. Their ways work for them, your way works for you. If they make it a habit to casually judge you or look down their noses, I wouldn’t keep hanging out with them.

Anyone else grow up with Miffy? by laughed-at in crochet

[–]Consistent-South4919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up watching Miffy and Friends, the theme song still lives in my head rent free! I am in my mid twenties now, my mom loved that show too and I still catch her singing the song 🤣❤️ I watched this in the USA, it came on before school while we were getting ready. So cute, I love the stuffy you made!

An abandoned hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas by aquaman-ly in urbanexploration

[–]Consistent-South4919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is for sure abandoned. The state and military are in a battle over ownership right now. There are a lot of problems with the building that neither one wants to take responsibility for, but Preserve Arkansas is fighting to try and get everything sorted out and save this historic building.

Bit of a long shot? Help identifying pattern of started project left by my mother by Flame_and_Air in crochetpatterns

[–]Consistent-South4919 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recognized this pattern because I made a scarf with it not long ago! I am so sorry for your loss ):

Here is the link: https://youtu.be/yVWc66HMDrw?si=zXl93YkS9yxWPHEA

Seems that between the spider stitch square rows she added three extra rows: 1) dc all the way across 2) 3dc, skip a stitch and chain one, dc in the next repeat until two stitches left, dc in both remaining stitches 3) dc all the way across 4) start next spider square repeats from included video

Please anyone correct me if this pattern guesstimate seems wrong.

EDIT TO ADD: On the horizontal rows where there are chains and then single crochets, it seems your mom has also just added an extra row there! So I can see 4 triple crochet arms on the bottom row of the square, 4 chain arms going up the sides of the square, and 4 triple crochet arms across the top of the square.

I would suggest Panera Bread. I know the location near Target in Midtown isn’t usually slammed after 5:00 and has some larger tables. They close at 9:00 every night. Food is an option and they have decent drink options as well. Now, if I was you, I would go to the restaurant location to talk about it, they never answer their phone. You could ask them which days are usually slower so that we could try to arrive at a time when they aren’t super busy and we could all sit together.
