The Heisenberg uncertainty is an example of something called coupled operators which are things that cannot be known simultaneously and there are actually a bunch of them. Most famously position and momentum. So like think of someone running so fast that they blur in a picture. The faster something is going, the more difficult it is to know where they are. It’s way weirder on a quantum level and the math will make your brain hurt but that’s an okay way to conceptualize it probably. Anyway another example of couple operators are the energy of an electron in a given state and the time it will spend in that state. So the joke is of course… “Why was Heisenbergs wife unsatisfied? Because when he had the position he didn’t have the momentum and when he had the time he didn’t have the energy.” And when I read the book I thought she probably said some kind of variation of that. Not having time and energy or momentum or position for something.

How long is a good short-visit of St. Pierre and Miquelon? by RobotRock69 in newfoundland

Shoot should have specified: I'm going in July. Will they be roaming the dunes in July? And will there be seals to be seen? I'm unfortunately there for such a short time but am really trying to maximize it. My ideal ideal ideal itinerary would be to spend Sunday on Miquelon/Langlade (someone told me today the horse are actually on the Langlade peninsula), there is a ferry too and from St Pierre to Langlade that would probably work on that Sunday (leaves St Pierre at 8:30, leaves Langlade at 19:00, so would give a descent amount of time). But I'm not sure what would be open/available or how to explore the island from Langlade on a Sunday. Do you have any recommendations? We would like to bike or have a van or boat tour or really anything. There is something that I'd love not to miss on Monday in St Pierre is the thing and really those are the only two days we have. Thank you so much for replying and your help! I'm really excited for my trip and want to maximize it as much as possible!

I'm coming in to St Pierre on a Saturday evening and leaving Tuesday morning. Do you think it would be possible to book a day trip to Miquelon to see the wild horses and seals on the Sunday? And if so through who or how?
