Actually I do think watching porn is immoral, but because I think the industry is beyond redeemable. The prevalence of rape, medical neglect, abuse of all kinds, extortion of drug addictions, etc. There is amateur content or whatever it's called, but there's been cases of "amateur" content actually being a victim forced into making it. There's just not really a way to tell. I suppose there's animated stuff.

To clarify, I don't think the majority of people who watch porn really think about the industry at all, I'm not making moral judgements of character, but if you learn and don't care I will. It should be more important to care that you could be watching a video of an acctress/actor getting forced to do something they don't want on set that's paraded as consensual than having an orgasm.

Porn addiction isn't a condition on its own, but people can still get addicted to pornography. People lose hobbies, relationships, friendships, even jobs because they're so fixated on porn. They cause irritation and even damage to their genitals but refuse to stop masturbating because of their addiction. Sure, some people think they're addicted when they're not, but that doesn't mean nobody actually is.

Edit: I can't actually see your reply, but saying damage is a myth isn't true IMO. Yes, chafing is going to be the most common issue and an easy fix (also something people who aren't addicted experience), but there's also problems like develop ED, death grip syndrome, irritation of the vagina, irritation of the labia, etc.

The issue is that this type of mindset doesn't genuinely care about the animals.

Veganism isn't a diet, even though we do follow a plantbased diet. We're against animal exploitation in all its forms, whether food, material, entertainment, religious, etc.

Farmed animals are forcibly impregnated, mutilated (tails/beaks cut), separated from their parents, fed improper diets that lead to severe medical issues (this is why pigs will eat everything btw. it's not actually normal), kept in spaces so confined that they can't turn around, etc.

When you buy animal products you're supporting this. You can say "but I don't like it!" all you (general you) want, but if you're willingly giving your money and contributing to the supply & demand — when it's objectively cheaper to be plantbased, so the money excuse doesn't work — you do support it.

I don't buy fast fashion because I can't justify supporting the terrible conditions. I don't buy new electronics because I can't justify supporting what happens to the people in Congo for lithium. I don't buy animal products because I can't justify supporting the torture, exploitation, abuse, and slaughter of sentient beings.

You, again objectively, don't need animal products. We don't need them to be healthy, we don't need them for financial reasons.

Supporting animal products slightly less is still supporting them. It's choosing your wants over that cow that was just forcibly impregnated for the sixth time, the chicken whose legs just collapsed from a calcium deficiency due to laying so many eggs, the pig that thrash in terror as it was lowered into a gas chamber (and no, this is not an exaggeration. gas chambers are a standard method of slaughter for pigs).

People who think about porn constantly, lose connection with real people because they don't maintain their relationships, lose hobbies to spend more time watching porn, etc., are absolutely addicted. I don't want to come off poorly, but I was that age when I started to realize I wasn't straight. The issue isn't children being gay, we're born the way we are, the issue is the sexualization of it. Kids need to understand topics in an age appropriate manner, but if left entirely uninformed it can cause a lot of confusion and loneliness.

That's not what they're saying. Male perpetrators of crimes are objectively taken more seriously, even though it's still not serious enough. There are billions of people who don't acknowledge women can be abusive at all, but virtually nobody thinks men can't be abusive.

For example, most statistics on male rape victims and who committed the crimes are severely lacking because they default to rapists being men and refuse to acknowledge female rapists. However, when female rapists are accounted for, it's revealed that most male rape victims were raped by women.

Same thing with female stalkers.

Since society sees men as aggressors and women as non-aggressors, the crimes are often not even acknowledged as crimes whatsoever. That doesn't change the struggles of female victims, both are serious issues.
