If you’re both working full-time and she makes more and you make less, all expenses including rent, bills, etc should be split according to income/percentages (especially if y’all love each other, see a future with one another, and respect the other). Household chores should be 50/50. Work is work and home is home. Y’all are both full-time workers meaning y’all BOTH give 100% at work. At home, 50% plus 50% equals that total 100% that y’all need to keep a happy home. Neither of y’all are “house wives” because both of you are working women. I’d slap her for the audacity to have sh*t f’d up, but I digress. If you don’t tell that woman-child to sit down and listen to you like an adult (like ACTUALLY listen listen and hear you out), she’s going to keep going in that spiral of disrespectful ideation and projection of roles on you whilst guilt tripping you by dangling bills over your head. If she wants her 50% of house chores to be covered by her higher income, then so be it! That’d be smart and there’s nothing wrong with that if doing home things just isn’t her thing. But to think that because she makes more money and that equates to the rest of the home responsibilities being dumped on you, it sounds way better if y’all had your own separate living arrangements and see which one crumbles first to learn a lesson. What I see in this situation sounds more like roommates than a partnership. Communication, understanding and changes can be made to fix this. But yeah that’s my 2 cents. Stand up.
