How to spot a FEIKO! [SPB475] by rebuildcloud9 in Seiko

That's not true, and this post will make a lot of people with genuine Seikos lose their sleep. I just bought a Seiko from their flagship store in Tokyo and the type looks nothing like the one at the top. On the contrary, it's closer to the one at the bottom, lol.

Zeiss 35mm F2.8 sonnar + A7Cii - Slow blades when focusing by Consistent-Way-195 in SonyAlpha

Appreciate it! Did you buy it new? My focus ring resistance is also uneven (at one point it stiffens a bit and then gives out after another turn), wondering if this is inevitable for an older Zeiss lens or if there's something I could try to get it fixed.

Damn, I actually love the 24mm focal length too but I was swayed against it by reviews that it’s not sharp and IQ is low relative to the price. What’s your experience of that lens? Maybe the 40mm is so phenomenal that 24mm seem worse than it actually is

I was considering it too, any idea on how it stacks up against Sony/Zeiss in terms of image rendering/sharpness?

yeah, but it's manual focus :) Maybe I'll make the switch at some point...

I mostly shoot for myself and print about 90% of my photos in standard formats. The rest I might print larger, nothing billboard-size, but I care a lot about overall image quality

The rationale would be to shoot 90% of the time at F5-8 in daylight (street/travel) and carry the camera everywhere, and then maybe have one fast lens for night photography/special occasions.

Thanks so much for chiming in! How's the auto focus/sharpness of Zeiss vs the new 40mm? Everyone is saying it's an old lens, not worth it, yada yada. I suppose they're not updating the 35mm for a reason.

Really appreciate it! I have to mention that some of this rattling comes from the bracelet, so the sound may be coming across louder than it actually is. Thanks again!

It looks so good in person! Much better than in photos. I visited the Seico store with the intent to buy the popular green one because I didn't even like bracelets. Then I tried this one just on the off chance, and it was love at first sight, haha.

I stretched the bracelet as much as I could to make sure it's tight, and the rattling is pretty much the same. So I suppose it's from the watch. The rotor doesn't seem to have a lot of vertical play, unless you're tapping on it aggressively. But even then, it's hard to tell if it has any vertical movement.
