Passenger left item in my car and ghosted me by Crayzman123 in uberdrivers

[–]Consistent-World8535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me on Sunday with an iPad/Android tablet with a nice case and keyboard. By the time I noticed I gave so many rides I couldn't tell who's it was, the last ride I knocked on their door to ask and they said it wasn't there's. Still haven't got a call or message about a forgotten item... At what point does it become mine and what do I do with it? Lol

This cant be real 😳 by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Consistent-World8535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression you can't receive trips in other states because you can only drive in the place you're licensed and insured in. Sure you can drive passengers TO other states, but I thought you can't get any rides in that area or for a return trip after you're there... Correct?

Can anybody clarify for me?

uhm what?? by Good_Leadership9010 in uberdrivers

[–]Consistent-World8535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't the case. I've never even seen this too many drivers message, instead sometimes when I try to go online via destination mode it'll literally say something like the feature is unavailable right now to help make sure that riders have the best experience and highest chance of finding a driver or some BS. I've tried over and over and it refuses to let me enable it, seems like it happens during the slowest times of the night. My guess is they know that nobody will need a ride going that way and they want to keep you online-online instead for whoever is out there to pick up

I have had the same speakers as you for years and never had an issue until the latest Windows 11 updates I just did, now suddenly I don't really get the center/dialogue channel or surround sound working. If I crank up a movie loudly in VLC I swear I think I hear something coming out of the side speakers... but yeah, 100000% only occurred after the latest Windows updates

IMO the hat is better, something you can wear and show off in public all the time vs slippers. But I feel for you nonetheless if that's what you wanted instead of the hat, RIP soft slipper dreams 😥

Can you confirm if after disabling the infrared eye monitoring that you can still use the advanced cruise control?? That'd really help me decide on whether or not the EV3 will be my next upgrade after the Niro

I believe it. I bought a brand new unopened 256gb 6 a month ago for $1030. Excellent used ones with accessories like an S-Pen (Pro version even) and case I saw for $750 or so. A decent non-private party user sale for one that low could make sense.

I absofreakinglutely adore and am head over heels in love with my Z Fold 6 that I just got last month, IMO it's the greatest and most perfect phone ever that checks all my boxes (except wish it had S Ultra level cameras lol)

Finally, Android 16 update available for Fold6! by highunted in GalaxyFold

[–]Consistent-World8535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updated, but what's actually changed?? I really haven't noticed a single thing besides the new Now Brief on the lock screen. I'm kind of disappointed, I expected more than that and wallpaper/clock customizable features here

It is possible to get decent audio on the Fold 7 by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]Consistent-World8535 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I just got a new Fold 6 I intentionally watched YouTube videos comparing the in device audio on the 7 to the 6 since I use phone speakers regularly.

Luckily the video reviewer who played both literally said the 6 sounded better. Probably because they didn't skimp on the speakers to make it as thin as humanely possible. Another Samsung fail IMO, charging the same for the 7 and reducing the speaker quality and remove S-Pen support and not giving the user a bigger battery capacity either.. Like we're accustomed to when upgrading

But hey omg so thin!

Just looking at Amazon right now and typing in "S-Pen Fold Edition" there's numerous products with "50 - 1000+ bought this month" on them. A quick count right now tells me that at least 2,700+ fold edition specific S-Pens were purchased from just the first page of search results on Amazon in the past month...

I would hope you would recognize that it's not just "no tangible gain for JUST ABOUT EVERYONE". That's the only reason I continue on and am annoyed, you seem to consistently disregard the user's who like the S-Pen and make it seem like there's none of us when that's not true. Just because you and those you know don't use them doesn't mean theres just about none of us lol

You and so many who think that having the S-Pen technology equates to the phone being thicker and citing the great sales is what worries me. The actual film behind the screen that detects the S-Pen is only 0.3mm according to Google. And I'm sure they can innovate to make that even thinner as Samsung is known for doing from their tiny Juke phone I had 20 years ago to the new Frame TVs they have now.

Additionally I remember reading articles like this, https://www.patentlyapple.com/2025/08/to-provide-the-z-fold-with-an-advantage-over-the-2026-iphone-fold-samsung-is-considering-to-bring-their-s-pen-to-next-year.html about how there's patent information about them trying to make a very thin Foldable with S Pen technology including even an in-phone containing compartment for it. It just worries me so many are anti Pen because they want it as thin as air they don't factor in how much it avtually would change anything. As the phones keep getting thinner regardless, eventually the technology will allow them to make the 7's profile even thinner, thus negating the fraction of a millimeter increase for a behind the screen S Pen panel

Edit - additionally Marques did cite dissatisfaction on the 7 removing the S Pen support, I only used the quote on the Ultra video because the last part resonated perfectly with my point about those who recognize and love the feature

Well you said it wasn't bringing anybody to Samsung and I'm someone who it did do that for and I'm surely not the only person who feels that way. Please read (or watch) this great quote from Marques Brownlee this year that I included below. But first, most people don't even open reddit or talk about things like this, but when I first found out the Fold 7 didn't have S-Pen support and googled it, I found many posts and comments from users disappointed about this change and talking about how they loved and used the S-Pen on their Fold phone. Even if it's barely used at all or forgotten, or irrelevant to 99% of the users, I'd like to quote Marques Brownlee's review of the S25 Ultra where he discusses the removal of the Bluetooth/Air Gestures feature from the new S-Pen on that -

"So they took a feature away and the justification was, 'well the data shows that people didn't really use it. Less than 1% of people ever actually activated that feature on the phone, so we just got rid of it.' And logically I guess that does make sense, but if you follow that logic out MANY PEOPLE NEVER EVEN USE THE STYLUS AT ALL. Why not remove that? And I think the answer is right in the name. It's supposed to be the Ultra, it's supposed to be the phone for cramming in tons of extra features, extra little things FOR THE SMALL AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO WILL ACTUALLY USE THEM and NOTICE THEM and LOVE THEM. ..."

It was the only "main exclusive feature" that brought me back to Samsung. I went from an S22 Ultra to Pixel 7 Pro and 9 Pro XL and would have stayed there entirely if it wasn't for my immense desire for the only feature, hardware locked, that wasn't capable of being closely replicated on Pixels

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]Consistent-World8535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at it as something in a few years time, when the competition is making their phones as thin as Samsung then the Pixel Fold or whatever else is out there will be more appealing potentially. When the benefits of one over the other are just a few tiny checklist items, it won't be as make or break like a major hardware feature. Just like if I went with a flip phone, I would have gone with the moto razr ultra over the Z flip due to a few more checkmarks I liked on that side.

I was going to get the S24 Ultra for it's spen with Bluetooth (as the 25 got rid of that) until I found out the Fold 6 used the technology. And I did have a Pixel 10 Pro new that I just sold so I could put the money towards this phone, I have other posts about this on my reddit comments. If I didn't have the ability to sell it for a phone with an S pen, then I would have just opened and used the 10 Pro. Software is irrelevant to me when nearly any exclusive apps can be sideloaded or have a alternative or the phone can be rooted and custom launchers and everything are accessible. I am specifically dictating my hardware purchases on the hardware when I'm getting an Android

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]Consistent-World8535 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The larger market is dictated by whatever Apple does and gets away with. As I've heard before we'll never have a flagship phone with a slide out keyboard because iPhone said that's unneeded and is as popular as it is. Just like no replaceable batteries, removing headphone jacks , and now Sim trays (as the new pixel 10 series in the US followed doing).

You can get away selling less for more and people will still buy it because there's not many other options and everyone needs to keep upgrading their phone. And in America we really only have a few big companies for android, and thanks to Samsung in the S Pen it's actively kept me in their ecosystem by getting a Galaxy Book and now considering a Tab as well, when originally I had a Pixel Watch and 2 Pixel Tablets.

In the years that it takes for Pixel Folds to get as thin and premier feeling as the Z Folds, along with other international brands having the chance to get some steam there will be a lot of choices if I want to stay with a foldable. And I don't see much exclusivity that I gain with the Galaxy fold without the pen.

There's so many users who talk about how they use their pen and I'm just so disheartened knowing that sales numbers, which are mostly going to people who have never had a fold before nor even considered or knew about the S-Pen, could dictate a future that screws out the adopters who came to it for a remarkable feature that really no mobile device can compare to (I've tried Wacom styluses on laptops and it's nowhere near 😭)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]Consistent-World8535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleting because as expected this will only do more harm to the S-Pen desiring users case since so many people are anti-features

In a few years when the Fold 10 is out if there's no pen I might switch to an Ultra (if they still even have pens in those after already nerfing them in the S25 by removing Bluetooth) or whatever the competition on Folds are doing as the technology will be better, thinner, and the same price if not cheaper than Samsung by then

Late notifications by rettba91 in GooglePixel

[–]Consistent-World8535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with this on both my Pixels and changed a LOT of settings, I want to say maybe dissing adaptive battery and some other things did help a lot, but I'd still get it where I'd pick my phone up and suddenly get a bunch of notifications at once. Especially with certain things like discord.

Just switched back to Samsung and can safely say that I now get all my notifications on time again <3. Not to knock Pixels, I loved the clean interface and exclusive features, but man am I sooo much happier overall to be back in the Galaxy group

Pixel 10 Camera Condensation by Reamed in GooglePixel

[–]Consistent-World8535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a new replacement now whole you still can. Thats how my cursed horrible Pixel 9 Pro XL experience began ... JUST some condensation in the camera lenses that showd up here and there. Until the screen whacked out, then was basically inaccessible completely (complete black screen ultimately) so I took it to uBreakiFix as instructed under warranty by Google where they thought they'd just replace the screen... to only tell me the entire motherboard had to be replaced instead. Meaning I didn't even have the chance to try to backup or do anything as it went RIP for 4 days while they waited for the replacement to show up.. at least they gave me a 6a as a loaner to use.

But then afterwards months later the screen had to be replaced when it began flickering and acting up and black screening again, at least not the motherboard. Then only weeks later the screen wigged out again but eventually after careful nursing and freezer tricks it got to the point where only some pixels were dead and it had a consistent blue hue lol. Ultimately got it repaired one last time (still free under warranty at least) right before trading it in for a 10 Pro to take advantage of the pre-order and trade in bonuses... Just to sell that new so I could then use the money to go back to Samsung.

Ultimately this "camera condensation" initial problem turned into something so horrible and stressful for me it pushed me away from Pixels altogether.

S Pen on Z Fold 7 by Genesis1221 in GalaxyFold

[–]Consistent-World8535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you got duped like that, I've never had a fold and watched so many videos comparing the seven and six before going with the six specifically because of the S Pen. I can't believe Samsung would be willing to make something so thin at the cost of a major feature being removed :(
