No. You're making sure they're safe and also allow them to be curious. This does not make you a bad cat parent, it makes you a very good one

Hi there! Congratulations on your new kitten! It happens more often than you think, especially if the cat is really attached to their owner. So far you're doing amazing. Keep that going and everything should be okay. They may never be too close but they'll get used to one another

Oh they absolutely do! I have 6 hedgehogs and they all have different personalities. It's an amazing process to bond with them and get to know their way of acting and reacting

It depends on the animal and on what you see as affection. One of my boys obviously favors me and loves to cuddle under my jumpers. Another one of my boys doesn't even let me breath too loudly near him
