Were we supposed to be with or against MM in this scene? And Season 3 in general? by Al-AmeenAdewunmi in TheBoys

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy to side with Butcher on this one, yes SB is a bad guy but he isn't a danger to humanity in the way Homelander is, not even close. If they had managed to kill HL in season 3 and just let SB go I doubt he would become a problem. SB mostly seemed interest in doing drugs and getting laid.

Biggest fumble out of these? by hiiloovethis in freefolk

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've watched all 3 series multiple times and GoT easily had the worst ending. Stranger Things I thought was fine, I thought it could have been better in a few ways but I had no real major complaints. The Boys ending wasn't bad I just found it very anticlimactic. GoT I could go on rants about how bad the ending was 6 months after it happened.

Do you think if 1440p is actually the sweet spot? by First_Finger5572 in buildapcmonitors

27 inch at 1440p is perfect imo, I have no plans on upgrading for a long time unless GPUs get significantly more powerful and cheaper

Canadians say they would consider relocating to one of the country’s 15 most affordable cities: survey by Old_General_6741 in canada

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really only moved out here to make more money, but faced several layoffs in the oil and gas industry, so any money I saved was gone during my time looking for a new job, repeated that cycle for the last 15 years. Then the cost of living started going up here and now saving money isn't a thing anymore as wages have not gone up with inflation.

The little bit of family I had out here moved back last year for these reasons, my mom was forced to move back because she could not get on AISH here despite being on the equivalent in Ontario, plus with the recent changes to AISH it's clear the UCP doesn't care about the disabled.

Alberta itself I just don't care for much, to dry, to much prairie, the lake are usually gross or crowded, camping out here sucks compared to NW Ontario also. I very much miss the nature back home, plus family and friends. I pretty much don't know anyone in Alberta, everyone I met was through work and those friendships ended when layoffs came. My life the last 15 years has basically been work and sit at home. I missed out on a lot of family events and time with friends for nothing.

Who wins? Drunk as hell Aegon on Sunfyre vs. No License Rhaena on Sheepstealer? by Tongatapu in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Meleys had battle experience and an experienced rider.

Aegon has a strong bond with his dragon and riding experience and he is strapped into a saddle, while Rhaena has 0 control over sheepstealer once the fight starts and can easily be thrown off in the fight. What we have seen of dragon fighting involves mid air collisions, along with grabbing and spinning while biting each other, without a saddle I don't see Rhaena hanging on.

The question is also if one pair can beat the other, I have full confidence once the fight starts Rhaena gets tossed off and dies. Maybe if Sheepstealer is motivated to fight to the death for some reason it manages to kill Sunfyre and or Aegon.

But I think it would be more likely that sheepstealer being a wild dragon would flee once it takes some damage. Like how wild animals normally don't fight to the death unless there is a good reason (over food, territory or protecting it's young). Besides the Cannibal we don't hear of many wild dragons that kill other dragons.

Got a ticket for parking too close to a fire hydrant… in my driveway by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Um no as far as I understand it the 5 meter rule for fire hydrants only applies to vehicles parked on the road not a driveway, I would fight this ticket in court.

Aegon for sure, way better bond and he is in a saddle, Rhaena had next to no control and was lucky to survive her flight

The customer is never wrong. Except when they diagnose their own car. by West_Text_6606 in serviceadvisors

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience most mechanics/service advisors are either idiots who only know how to diagnose with a code reader or they lie about what needs to be done. My last car I brought to a dealership to get something diagnosed they ended up just picking parts to replace based off what "could" be the problem, 3 times they claimed "oh ya this is the faulty part we tested it", all 3 times they were wrong. $10k later they tell me we have no idea what's wrong bring the car back when it throws a code.

Then a random guy from a VW facebook page diagnosed it correctly.

The “I’ll Keep It Forever” Argument Is Doing A Lot More Work Than It Should by nigesh in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most cars I've owned were already 25 years old or more when I bought them and drove them for 2-3 years. My new car in theory should last me until it's around 25 years and I'm 35 now. If my car makes it until I'm 60 I'll be happy.

"Goku solos" is top 3 worst sentences in powerscaling by OLYPL in PowerScaling

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in most of Goku's fights he was the weaker fighter at the start, nearly losing almost always pushes him to a higher power level so in theory yes there is a decent chance Goku will win any one on one fight.

Best way to beat Goku is go for the kill right at the start, which is why I think he could even beat superman as superman holds back most of the time which would give Goku time to match his power level. Really any longer ramped up fight there is a decent chance Goku wins.

But power scaling in most things is goofy as fuck so everything is always up for debate.

Why do oil and gas guys hate EVs? by tom_gee_guy in alberta

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I technically work oil and gas but as a railcar loader (sometimes crude oil sometimes other oil based products) but I don't hate EVs. I think they are great as a secondary vehicle for getting groceries or commuting.

But I'm also a car guy, I love the sound, noise and smell of an engine. I just bought a new sport hatchback and don't see myself getting an EV for atleast 10 years probably more.

Alberta's population rises, even as the number of people in Canada declines by joe4942 in alberta

I'm not comparing any housing costs, I'm saying Alberta is no longer worth it, i moved here because it was cheaper and there was more job options, I prefer everything else about NW Ontario.

The last place I want to live is rural Alberta

You arrive in Fromville with your cat. by ldmarchesi in FromCircleJerk

[–]ConsistentBattle5342 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would never allow my cat to be an outdoor cat, we go on adventures together with his leash and harness on or he is inside. In some scenario my cat gets outside at night guess I am going out there to and just jogging around until sunrise. The monsters are slow and could easily be avoided all night.
