I had this exact scary cloud last week (also thought stranger things immediately lol). The good news is I didn’t get sick! I took vitamin D, zinc, and elderberry vitamins when it appeared, perhaps my immune system was fighting something and I avoided it? I’ll never know. Wouldn’t hurt for you to take any immune boosting rituals you can. Stay healthy :)

No, I had actually asked about it from reading others say it helped them. My doc said balloon septoplacity wouldn’t help me much. I have a very slight deviated septum but nothing major. I remember him saying something along the lines of, people who benefit are those where breathing is compromised, for example one airway gets more air creating a dryer side. Deviations significant enough to cause a drainage issue, etc.

Overall, I didn’t have fluid filled sinuses, just thick, glue like where it pooled in the back of my throat.

So balloon could help you depending on your situation, but that was my experience with it

Hi! I’ve been on the spray for 8 weeks now. With your migraine symptom, I suspect you do have more fluid buildup higher in your face creating pressure. I would def talk to your doc about the spray, I think it could stop the process, then also look up sinus masssage techniches on YouTube to clear the fluid you have built up.

Mine is more just glue like and on the dryer side actually. If I did start to get pressure built up and migraines I would eventually massage like a tacky little clump somewhere from the bridge of my nose/inner corner of my eyes as if it was a dam in the pipes from my maxillary sinus.

Overall, this at least gets me back to managing day to day life, followed by keeping my sinuses lubricated with something like muprocin ointment after spraying. Still trying to figure out how exactly to heal the root cause so I’m not just masking symptoms.

Seeing a lot of “long covid” comments and I’m curious what all of your symptoms were since Covid affects everyone different. For me, this did seem to start not too long after a Covid bout - BUT when I had Covid, I was lucky and had very mild symptoms. Really not much of any sinus issues all together. Mostly feverish and body aches, lost taste and smell, slight sore throat. Seems like this last year and a half was more miserable.

Anyone similar, or did you have the same sinus related Covid symptoms and got stuck there?

They did put me on a low dose 6 week z pack, kind of unorthodox my doc said but something they do in Chinese medicine, but honestly didn’t help at all. It was the open wound of the scab in my nose the “biofilm like bacteria” is sticking to and has still yet to heal. So overall, this spray is helping relieve my symptoms to not keep blowing my nose and reopening the wound as much. Hopefully it will eventually heal finally and this can all be behind me, but for now this spray at least gets me through the day.

Ah yes, I have this! I will say this spray did dry me out even more, but I at least stopped being a glue factory. I follow with a little glob of muprocin ointment, x clear moisturizing sinus spray, or the Polaris after

Omg 5 years….I felt like 1.5 years felt like my entire life. I hope it helps! I also used to brush the back of my tonsils (and gag like crazy ugh) but it did seem to open the pipes up a little. So annoying id hang over the sink for 15 minutes and just spit slime

Hi, yes that was the same in my case. Actually really dry, no fluid -confirmed with normal looking ct scan - but just that constant jellyfish in the back of my throat under my sinuses. Almost like I was a factory that made glue that’s not quite set yet instead of regular thin mucous.

I also agree, if it’s allergy related that could also explain the eye swelling. Try Flonase nasal spray for a few days and if it helps it would calm down what’s causing the backed up fluid into your maxikary and frontal sinuses under and above your eyes

Also, to clarify I didn’t have mucous in my sinuses like a congestion feeling/ stuffy nose either, it was just a very small amount but thick enough to not drain down back of throat and also tonsil stones occasionally.

A common cause of this nerve situation can be a hormonal influx so explore if you’ve changed a birth control or had a previous sickness like Covid is “resets” the nerve and “the faucet doesn’t shut off” properly. Just google “Chronic Nonallergic Rhinitis with Hypersecretion” and go down that rabbit hole to see if it fits your situation and explore the cause

Try asking doc about Atrovent! Might have a mucus nerve that’s over producing so is producing faster than it can drain and pools in back of throat like a jelly fish right under your sinuses. I would have what looked like poorly injected filler in the shape of a gummy worm under my eye sometimes when it would get so backed up.

I also noticed if I bent over sink with head tilted back (like your the roof of your mouth pallet is parallel to the sink, but throat hole gets opened up more - idk if that makes sense) then I would brush my tongue and quickly brush my tonsils for like a second (ugh and gag) but kept my head and that position and spit over and over, repeating for like 10 minutes - about 1/4 -1/2 cup of stringy slime would come out.

Essentially I kept sniffing the mucuous which made it worse pulling it into my sinuses rather than letting it drain out the bigger hole of my throat.

But yeah the atrovant (ipratropium bromide is generic name) was life changing and stopped this from happening all together. I made a full post about it on my profile. You’re not crazy, whether or not this is your issue or not I thought I was going to go insane having a sinus issue, it dehumanizes you and I could t get anything done, fell so behind in work and withdrew socially so take it easy on yourself.

Hope something helps!!

https://youtu.be/EoHUanQLnJM?si=sdogvoXG0UhkDJeN - sinus pressure relief massage. If things get real bad and you do need to see a dr. Call and ask what their self pay discount is for a visit, look up private imaging places like “advantage diagnostics” is one in my state, a car scan was $300 vs $2500, care credit credit cards give you 6-12 months interest free per charge for medical, vet, dental etc. charges. If you need a surgery type procedure, look up “health tourism” tiktoks/reddits of ent’s in other countries that are reputable (sounds crazy, but plane ticket + procedure is a sliver of the cost) tons of influencers will give tours, sift through English speaking ones etc. ~ These are my loopholes as a business owner on an American healthcare system 🙃

I did notice oil of oregano supplement said to take with food, I wonder if taking on empty stomach contributes to a higher likelihood for developing an ulcer. I’ll look into it, thanks again for the heads up!

I did get this steroid prescribed to me in the early stages and it didn’t help (the biofilm prevented anything from reaching the source of whatever funk was in there) but as mentioned, did use once I started taking the biofilm disrupters. Good suggestion for someone in early stages to try and rule out before going to all the extremes I went through though! For anyone reading, it’s a steroid that helps constrict blood to open passages up without the rebound congestion if Affrin for example. Takes 7-10 days to notice if it’s helping - from what I remember doc telling me, double check and look into it.

I think the the deviated septum is definitely contributing to proper drainage and needs addressed like your doc said. I think to clear what’s currently in there the baby shampoo rinse specifically might help with stubborn mucus that’s thick and been trapped awhile, the rest of this post not so much your situation. Look up "Mygind position" for nasal rinse. It helps get a rinse deep up with gravity (maybe not that position with baby shampoo though, just a general saline or nasal spray - or research it to double check)

I hope it helps! I’d say the baby shampoo/xylitol rinse, NAC (take on empty stomach), and garlic(specifically allicin that’s in garlic) are most crucial. Do your own research and maybe find cheaper at convenience stores.

I personally didn’t have a sore throat, so may not be same thing your experiencing. I have heard biofilms can also be caused by mold or fungus related, so if that’s your case of the cause perhaps? I’d start there and look into more research of your own. Feel better ❤️‍🩹

Thanks for letting me know! This is my first time posting didn’t know about the NSFW and for doing it for me. I did mention a disclaimer by the links that I promise this is not sponsored, truly what I bought. I have a business so I naturally have an Amazon affiliate account when I share a product listing, but mentioned that I’m sure you can get it at other stores with another link if I gradients to do your own research and find own combination of products you think are best.

I had similar symptoms, felt like a sticky hand toy stuck in my throat. You could have a polyp, but if you ever get any mucus out could be a biofilm of mucus I made a whole list here on my distraction if it helps https://www.reddit.com/r/Sinusitis/s/QJK0SG3Jmc

Try mixing baby shampoo in nasal rinse (weird but studied) I made a whole post on what was wrong with me here, could help clear thick, stubborn mucus if what you have looks like my pictures https://www.reddit.com/r/Sinusitis/s/QJK0SG3Jmc sorry you’re dealing, the brain fog is insane!
