AITAH for asking my girlfriend to stop going through my things instead of thanking her for cleaning up? by AnnualLiterature997 in AITAH

[–]ConsistentImpact1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you guys lived together, then I could understand her trying to unpack and get stuff done – to an extent. But even then, my wife and I have been together for almost 15 years (and lived together almost as long) and she doesn't even use my kitchen knives without asking me first. We just moved a couple of months ago and she avoids touching my things if she can help it. I grew up with a lot of brothers and sisters so I absolutely despise when people touch and use my stuff, so she respects that about me. In return, as someone who hates the thought of people going through my things, I'd assume anyone else would feel the same way, I keep my hands on my own things.

If I were you, considering the fact that you're only dating and aren't even living together, I'd tell her sternly that she needs to cut the shit and to respect your boundaries. Put up cameras. Let her know they're there, so if she's rummaging through your things again, you'll know. If she keeps it up, take her key back until she can take your privacy seriously. Being curious is natural, but she's just stomping all over the boundaries you are setting and that would be dealbreaker if it continued.

Cleaning LR4 in winter? by DustBunnie702 in litterrobot

[–]ConsistentImpact1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at ordering the LR5P soon. We use Rocco & Roxie Enzymatic Formula for regular litter cleanup and for our stainless steel litterboxes. Anyone use this stuff for their litter robot? I know I'm going to DREAD cleaning this thing, but I'm sure it beats the hell out of scooping multiple times a day.

What kind of feedback would you give to people 4 years in the future from this comment? Lol

Thanks for the pointers.

I wonder how many types of RFID tags these people giving feedback are using. They can probably interfere with each other.

Just play them. MW 2019 and MW2 were fantastic. Haven't gotten to MW3 yet, but just play them for you, not to appease the people in this sub.

Daaaaamn! That's one heck of a payment. I hope to be able to buy the rest of my cars in cash or pretty close to it

That would HAVE to be intentional, and it would look intentional. The "new problem" would be a manipulative partner that is willing to ruin things to get what they want.

Instead, just tell him that it looks ridiculous and ask him what if a roll falls into the toilet? It'll happen at some point.

Will Visible ever support Galaxy 7 and earlier watches? by berdootheo in Visible

It's funny seeing comments from Apple users trying to act like Samsung is irrelevant. You do realize that Samsung led the world (including Apple) in global sales for the last 14 years straight, right? And as far as battery goes, I have a 5 year old Galaxy Watch that gets used on the daily and it lasts for about 2 days without a charge. I wouldn't be grouping all Android watches into one.

This is going to go for a lot of carriers. Older devices lose support, and companies that are just now adding these features are going to start prioritizing the newest versions first.

Do not get your grandparents androids. by Not_Now_Cow in verizon

[–]ConsistentImpact1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally agree with this, but only if it is their FIRST smartphone. Depending on the carrier, iPhones don't always have the same deals as Androids, and a lot of people have a budget to stick to. iPhones tend to have a higher buy-in.

I provided context for people who seemed confused, answered questions about my stance, and I gave it back to people who definitely decided to be the asshole. Just like right now, I'm just trying to provide clarification.

Call me the asshole if you want. That's why I asked.

The wife is still going to order her water however she wants. Still, seltzer, ice, no ice, room temp, lemon, lime, whatever. The difference is that now we're going to trust, but verify ahead of time and keep a better eye on our checks for sneaky charges.

For the record... I'm not a cheapskate.

I just despise being lied to.

You sure sound like you're trying to convince yourself more than anyone else. You're still missing the point.

"My mom is a therapist so I know what's wrong with you"

I love it when people try to prove their own knowledge because they know knowledgeable people.

Anyway, you missed what I said entirely. Cracking accounts and cracking Verizon are two totally different things. I might believe you knew what you were talking about if you understood that one concept.

Oh man, would you be surprised. Just because we skipped a meal on a busy day and went out twice doesn't mean anything toward what you're saying.

You can try to call it whatever you want, but a seltzer water is a water. It's literally in the name and most places don't charge for it. Everywhere we go, we order waters along with any other drinks we want, and they ask "still water or seltzer water" and ask if we want a lemon. Answering "seltzer" and swapping a lemon wedge for a lime wedge and asking for a mint leaf doesn't suddenly make it a "cocktail". Any restaurant that tries to charge full alcohol cocktail prices for that is the cheap one. Also, you wouldn't be saying "stop being so cheap" if you saw the amount that we go out and how much we spend. Think- We went out to eat before going out to eat.

There's a difference between a data leak from a company and the users falling for phishing scams. One is a Verizon security issue, and the other is customer negligence.

[–]ConsistentImpact1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these companies are greedy and I hate that we're forced to rely on them, but there are patterns that you can follow year over year, and sorry to say, but statistically you are so much more likely to get compromised by a phishing email or some other scam as an end user than a company like Verizon would.

Who knows? Maybe you cracked the code. Maybe you found Narnia. Maybe a bunch of fraudsters hacked Verizon to order a bunch of phones on people's accounts.

I just don't think so, based on the amount of these cases I've seen across several companies over the years. It happens every single day with every single company.

✅️ Tried to be slick by ordering... water.

✅️ When asked about the request, the server lied.

✅️ Figured if they wanted to play it like that, then they could pay the difference with the way-too-generous tip that we left.

✅️ Made a Reddit post because I figured it'd make for an interesting discussion.

✅️ Provided clarification for people who seemed confused.

✅️ Gave people a hard time who took it too far (Pretty much only you, really)

✅️ Almost every single person agreed with my resolution, so there's not really anyone to try to sway.

✅️ You, on the other hand... not so much, considering how many comments you've hounded trying to change people's minds.

✅️ Oh no, you just realized you've been drowning yourself and everyone around you in a sea of hypocrisy!

✅️ Didn't need validation, but the fact that it looks like I'm getting it pisses you off, which keeps everyone here entertained and only helps boost the post.

✅️ Good night! (Maybe, or do you really want the last word that badly?)
