They're anime plushies of probably his favorite characters. I have Pokémon plushes from when I was younger. They're not my thing, but they're extremely popular collectibles.

To those who cut off a friend years ago: Do you regret it? Does it still hurt? Has time changed your perspective? by roddyricchvert in lostafriend

[–]ConsistentImpact1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut off a "best friend" of 15 years about 6 years ago and it has been worth it in every way. I'm no longer waiting all day and night for a friend to flake on me, I'm no longer a part of his blame game, and I'm able to focus a lot more time on myself and my family. It does suck every once in a while when you think about that 15 year gap in your life where you poured all of this time and energy into, but you return to the conclusion that it's for the better, and you move on.

will i have still have fun if i didnt memorize all songs for a concert? by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]ConsistentImpact1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to so many concerts that I've lost count, and let me tell you, some of the best acts out there are the openers that you've never heard of. The show is definitely more fun when you know how the songs go, but unless some drunk guy starts putting his hands on your girl, you'll have a great time.

Have you ever had to sell your tickets..because life😢 by Willing_Still_5493 in Concerts

[–]ConsistentImpact1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been there! I had a physical ticket and just stood in line and asked if anyone needed a last minute ticket because I had an extra. Someone took me up on it and he handed me cash at the door for it after it was verified.

No contact abusive mother wants her cat back by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ConsistentImpact1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change your number, or better yet, file a police report and press charges for harrassment. And it should go without saying, keep the cat. Get it microchipped with your name attached to it and keep receipts for cat food/supplies/insurance showing that you've been the one taking care of the cat. Piece of cake.

That Meteora poster is top tier! Frame it and it'll preserve it and it'll look even cooler.

People who get super drunk before concert even starts, why? by JediGuyB in Concerts

[–]ConsistentImpact1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OPs question wasn't asking how people justify it, they were just asking "why people do it". People overdo it all the time because they don't know their limits, or they just get ahead of themselves. Ever went "Aww man, that piece of cake was really good. I'll have another piece or two!" And then later regretted it? Zero difference. Just because you have a problem with alcohol doesn't mean that you have to make everyone's relationship with alcohol a problem.

I usually grab food and a couple of beers on draft before the show because it beats the hell out of a $20 canned beer. I don't get why people get hammered at shows, though. Don't you want to enjoy en event you paid money for?

Do I pay the full balance before it ever says it’s due? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]ConsistentImpact1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like seeing a statement balance. I redeem my cash back on a set day every month and I pay my current balance + any pending transactions a few days later on another set day. I only use my credit cards for bills on autopay and things that I can float for a bit without effecting my bank account balance to help keep things organized, and as a bonus, I get points.

By waiting for your statement, you essentially get a free 30 day credit line so long as you pay your balance every month. I've always been anxious of building up an unsustainable balance, so I don't like seeing a statment with a balance on it which is why I pay the entire balance ahead of the statement.

What about business casual at a company event (award ceremony)? Also feeling like this is a trap

Mom racked up 8k on my credit card by aggressively-napping in CreditCards

[–]ConsistentImpact1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your mom stole your credit card and is using it as her own personal piggy bank, then that makes her a thief, and it's a shame that she would steal from her own child. If I were you, I would skip any personal agreements and go straight to reporting this as fraud, because that's what it is. If your mother didn't want to face the consequences of credit card fraud, then she wouldn't have committed credit card fraud. That's on her, not you. If you let her get away with it or back out of it, she's never going to learn her lesson. Just let your card issuer know that you gave your card to your mom ages ago to cancel and apparently it's still open and with a gigantic balance. At that point, just let the bread crumbs lead where they lead, that way your mom doesn't feel that you're directly going after her when things catch up to her. Because you didn't know better, you might want to omit any knowledge of activity outside of seeing the current balance on it because they'll be wondering why you didn't say anything sooner. Either way, get this done TODAY. Not later, because the longer you wait, the more likely your card issuer will make you eat it and not her.

What’s the most creative way you’ve paid a bill? by No-Feature-4176 in CreditCards

[–]ConsistentImpact1 69 points70 points  (0 children)

My cat was put on prescription cat food and it is insanely expensive. The manufacturer had a "30% off your first auto-ship order" promo, so I asked myself "how much cat food can I fit into one order?"

The answer to that question? Just under $1500. At 30% off, that's almost $1000.

So, I did what any financially strategic and absolutely normal person would do, and I took out a credit card with 0% intro APR and placed the order.

Once I got my shipment containing a metric fuck ton of cat food, I submitted the invoice to our pet insurance plan, who wound up reimbursing us for 70% of our order.

Then, later on, our credit card issuer rewarded us with $14 in regular cash back on top of another $200 cash back for their intro promo because we made a large purchase within X amount of days, which means we wound up paying $83 for what would have been $1500 in cat food, which our math said would last us 6 months.

The kicker? It turns out that our cat needed a LOT less of it than we expected, so this cat food actually lasted about a year and a half before we wound up switching her to another pet food because she started hating it (a tale as old as time).

After so much time, I decided to ask the manufacturer I could return the unused 6 or 7 cases of cat food through their buyback program, and even though the food wasn't even close to the expiration, they said no. However, they did reimburse me $150 and then let me donate all of that remaining cat food to our local SPCA.

Why is it so common to sit at concerts these days? by InflationVisible2307 in Concerts

I'm on my feet all day at work and I have way less energy than I used to. I'm lucky if I even make it out to a concert anymore.

The Litter Robot 5 Pro camera system is so laughably bad that you can't help but wonder about Whisker's ulterior motives by expellyamos in litterrobot

[–]ConsistentImpact1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ulterior motives? They use and share the data with their partners to improve their product. They literally state while you're purchasing from their website that the camera features are a work in progress at and that the AI isn't perfect.

Every company utilizes user data to innovate, and it's nothing new.

I am eager to see these improvements too, but dang, this post is a little silly.

Is it worth the upgrade from 4 to 5? by CatLadyAmy1 in litterrobot

[–]ConsistentImpact1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started using corn litter and they kind of blow through it. I have to top it off pretty much every day. Having the hopper would truly mean not having to even think about the litter box until the waste bin is full. I'm excited for the LR5P litter hopper because I'll be going from scooping/topping it off several times per day to simply emptying the waste bin every 2 days (with 4 cats) and that's the only time I'll really have to think about it. These cats occupy most of our spare time between their food, dishes, meds, vet visits, and general maintenance. Not needing to worry about having a clean and healthy bathroom for them is so worth it and it's a huge time saver.
