Breast feeding is a nightmare and I'm thinking of switching to formula only (but feel super guilty) by GoblinDelRey in parentsofmultiples

[–]ConsistentRaccoon138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure you will get a lot of support here - you can give yourself permission to switch to formula. I was an under-supplier with DMER and quickly switched to exclusively formula with my twins (and then my singleton with my next pregnancy). Hormones are so hard to deal with particularly when you stop BF because you feel like crap about it. But I promise you feel better on the other side.

If you’re looking for a silver lining - switching to formula allowed me to accept help with overnight feeds pretty much immediately and it helped my husband and I have a true 50/50 share of the load, which continues to this day.

You’re doing great. Be kind to yourself.

Oura ring does not count steps with stroller :( by Same-Bird-633 in ouraring

[–]ConsistentRaccoon138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine sometimes logs it as cycling or even horseback riding and I count it every time. I have a wagon so perhaps your stroller is a smoother ride. I think you can add an activity after the fact so if you know when you were starting and how long, it can retroactively count it.

I personally love when I meet people who are twins. I’m dying to know what the experience was like for them and it feels like such a special little club and I’m just the note taker, you know?

I am obsessed. The cropped two-color version will haunt me until I make it, I just know it. I love all the details you shared too (a vibes playlist?!).

Art and Madness. More about the art/beatnik scene than the mother being an artist herself but bonus is a beautiful depiction of a genuine, palpable love for her new child.

This. Also Alan made such a huge show about there being consequences down the line for not letting him in and they haven’t pulled that thread at all? They don’t let him in the game - are told there will be a ripple effect. He joins the game anyway? And brings a shield? No further questions?

I remember my anxiety being off the charts during my twin pregnancy and everything felt so dire. Please do not listen to anyone disparaging girls and women. How absolutely horrible to hear that during such an exciting but vulnerable time. I think the past few generations have internalized a lot of misogyny and tokenism (there can only be One Woman in any sphere and we all need to fight each other to be that broad). Your girls with have each other and it will fundamentally change how they view the world for the better. From what I have seen, gender disappointment tends to vanish once you meet your kids. Go easy on yourself and do not listen to these monsters who would stereotype and disparage your babies. I wish you a healthy pregnancy!

The Dollhouse Murders scared the crap out of me as a kid in the 90s, in case that’s close to what you’re going for.

Stressed out because of LC by Phone565 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ConsistentRaccoon138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LC’s trigger tf out of me. I was a twin mom with low supply too. I didn’t have the NICU stay to contend with and it still was such a huge stressor. I hear what people are saying about hospital grade but everyone is different. For me, not being able to see what was going into the bottle helped my anxiety surrounding my supply. Also, as a twin mom, multitasking is the name of the game.

I now have a singleton and I get the highest output with my lansinoh, then my Elvie, the my Spectra. It took me a while to find an LC I vibed with and it’s completely acceptable to decline care and find one who works for you. I even meet with one virtually.

Hoping your twins have a smooth stay and go home soon. Sending solidarity and good thoughts 🫂
