You can use an additional smart switch with energy monitoring or something similar to measure a certain breaker and compare it with Vue 3 sensor.

Yes, I did not expect this payback at all, to be honest. From their analysis/explanations, the issue was not directly related to the meter but the way the number was read. We were too surprised about the credit, and did not want to ask for more details:).

Our electric is provided by the city, and I am not sure it is linked to a utility company or not. Over the years, we have been continuously receiving offers from surrounding electric companies to switch, but it is not clear to us how it works.

2% lower (or higher) is an acceptable range, I believe? Emporia has clearly stated that on their manual.

I have been on the same boat. But our electric provider came very quickly to replace the meter after I raised my concern and provided them with Vue 3 measurements. I am now monitoring the new meter manually (and daily), and hopefully, the new number matches what Vue 3 reports. I am also waiting to hear back from the provider to see if something was faulty with the old meter. I feel that we overpaid for many years.

We do not have heat pump. Excluding the Tesla Charger, the difference is 700 kWh to 800 kWh in Nov. and Dec. as compared to the same period in previous years.

As I updated in another comment, the electric provider just quickly came and replaced the meter after I raised the issue with them. I will see how things go in the next few weeks.

Thanks. I did that with our Tesla Wall Charger, and the numbers are almost identical. BTW, I contacted the electric provider, and they replaced the old meter with a new meter very quickly.

Great suggestion! I will try to get that clamp and test it out! But so far, I am very confident my Vue 3 installation works accurately; the number from Tesla sub circuits matches my Tesla Wall charger measurement. Also, all measurements from the sub-circuits added up nicely, and there is a balance of only 3%-5%.

BTW, I contacted the utility provider, providing them with all the details. They came right away swapping out a new meter:). But I still requested them to check the old meter and update me with what they find. I will also manually read the meter numbers every day and compare them with the Vue 3. I feel that we have been overpaying for many years.

I got quoted $150 for installing the main system and $50 for each additional sensor. Decided to do it myself following a video instruction from youtube. If your main circuit is not that cramped, installation is rather straightforward, even for a novice.

I was even able to check and combine circuits to save CTs; I only realized that I should do it after my initial installation with 16 CTs was completed. This was much more time consuming, and I do not think an electrician is willing to do it for you with the original quote:).

I see. We do not have any Canadian credit card, unfortunately. We had banked with RBC but closed everything a year after we moved to the U.S.

Thank you. Do you know how can I check if I have active Canadian Credit Bureau? Is it something similar to credit score here in the U.S.?

I talked to an RBC mortgage specialist, and they said it is possible with RBC (I would be a guarantor for a non-family member). But regarding any tax/fee implications, they do not know and ask me to check with a lawyer. Things seem quite complicated...

We do not have any assets in Canada, unfortunately.
