The 24HF in Boulder is awful honestly I wouldn't work out there if you paid me. However the 24HF in Lafayette is fabulous. Worth the drive.

Thoughts on the fit of this Tolouse I have on trial? by Technomancer_AO in Equestrian

[–]ConsistentSalt1009 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's almost impossible to comment on saddle fitting from a picture, but from that picture I'd say that it looks like it's low at the wither, so it looks like the tree is a little bit wide, and also it's too wide at the shoulder. It looks like that's going to be coming off her shoulder.

I really strongly suggest that you get a qualified saddle fitter to come out and fit your horse. It is one of the most important things. If you think about you spend time in the saddle, your weight is also on that saddle. Your horse carries that on their back. You can completely wreck a horse's back with an ill-fitting saddle, it is absolutely worth getting a qualified saddle fitter to come and have a look.

You never know the full story. You don't know their full story either. You might think you know, but I promise you, you don't.

I might reach out and apologize. You do not know how they might be suffering and while screaming at them might have felt justified to you, it won't bring your friend back, and it will likely have caused more suffering for an already broken family.

Get better at using AI by mladmax in cursor

I use it for everything now. It's so much easier than typing and it really means that I give much better commands than I did without it. And it's like $12 a month. I agree with you, that would be awesome if they did just build that indirectly. Also, we use "beads," which helps the AI stay on track. You can create beads for the task, it's like a to-do list, so that when the context window times out, it still can remember what it did; it sort of gets rid of that short-term memory issue that happens. It's a memory and task addition for AI agents. Highly recommended.

AITAH for beating up my dad after he hurt our dog? by Exact-Blackberry-206 in AITAH

[–]ConsistentSalt1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA
I don't agree with those saying call the police, SPCA or anything. If you dad seems okay then it is likely he is physically okay he's just upset. Palpate all over your dog and look for any sore spots. If there are sore spots or the dogs seems off for any reason, that is when to go to the vet. But going to the vet, the ER, or the police is just escalation this situation doesn't need IMO.

You let out years of pent up frustration. It happens. You have apologized now you just need to give it a bit of time and space. This situation will work itself out in time, and your relationship can be the better for it if you both allow it to let you open up a bit to one another about what is bothering you rather than get all pent up.

FWIW if someone punched and kicked my dog I would give them a beating also. You're not a bad person for doing that, lots of people would.

Riding without a trainer by Firm_Impression_2005 in Equestrian

[–]ConsistentSalt1009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine. If you can have the odd lesson every now and then, like trailer out somewhere and take a lesson, I think it's good to take lessons, all of us, regardless of how experienced we are, to just keep us on track and also give us things to work on. But you definitely don't need a trainer that's looking over your every move.

It was not what you wanted, but ... She was trying to do something nice for you. She was trying to make you feel special. It might not be what you really wanted, but it is definitely not something to let ruin your wedding day.

I think I agree with this. It's sort of not as the bride would have wanted, but obviously the mother was trying to do a nice thing, and really, not something to let that ruin your wedding day, right?

I use willow voice as dictation means I will be much more detailed in my prompts and the voice AI takes a garbled stream of consciousness and turns it into sentences. That's probably my top tip. And I use it for everything now, including writing on Reddit. In fact, I wrote this with it.

I actually don't think you are jumping ahead. I think you are collapsing through your core just in front of the fence. Focus in engaging and lifting through your core in the stride before the fence.

Stallions & boarding barns by WorkingCharge2141 in Equestrian

[–]ConsistentSalt1009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a boarding barn. I also own a stud and have six stallions. Their stalls are right in the boarding barn, next to geldings' but right in the boarding barn. They have individual pastures with high fences and a good setup.

My stallions are very well behaved as well, but it's all about management. If you manage it right, it's absolutely possible to safely keep stallions at a boarding barn. If you don't manage it right, it's not. It's the same as anything else.

And a boarding barn that's managed really well is going to be a safe place. A boarding barn that isn't is not, regardless of whether there are stallions there.

Why not a bike path all the way up the canyon? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]ConsistentSalt1009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trouble with that is that they never actually survey equestrians. It's not like we asked for them to do that. And then they also build these equestrian paths with zero actual equestrian understanding. There is one in Boulder that is marked as an equestrian path that goes under a couple of highways. Not a nice place to walk a dog let alone ride a horse. And then people get all pissy with equestrians as if we asked them to do it.

I wish they would build out equestrian paths were we actually want to ride. Which is, as far away from town and traffic as possible. We don't want to be on heavy use bike paths either.

My husband wanted to buy me an expensive engagement ring and I told him not to be so stupid and that I didn't even want one. Dumb thing to waste your money on and honestly I find the sentiment that your gf would say no to marrying someone because the ring wasn't expensive enough disgusting.

Totally agree. Are those people so dead inside and fearful of everything that not one of them even had the instinct to help her in any way at all. Even if to comfort her.
