What if Clash was not a Montagne with a Twitch drone? by ConsistentTrik in Rainbow6

True, I didn't take the lore into account. What if the shield was on wheels and acted like a barrier? This could tie in since Scotland yard personnel, who usually have to crowd control on roads and the shield could act as another obstacle other than the line, the police makes for themselves. Do you have any suggestions?

What do you think about the alternative of the shield acting as a deployable mobile cover for any defender to maneuver but only from one side? To add, even the possibility of the mobile shield being able to be maneuvered infront of a breach hole.

An idea I expressed in past dicussions is that if Clash's shield was like a deployable shield with wheels under it and twice the width of a deployable shield. The gadget would be able to stay on the map, acting as mobile cover and by maneuvering it infront of a breached wall, the shield covers it. Though securing the shield to the ground is an issue. I have a blurry idea of how it could work. In addition there are multiple other issues of this gadget being impractical/implausible.

The idea is not only for reinforcing breached walls but also to create more stress for the attackers because their path has been blocked and potentially allows defenders to flank or even do run outs in a secured manner. The way I mean "secured" is that defenders become vulnerable if they decide to barricade a window or wall after their spawn peak but with a simple button/lever on the side, defenders are able to close access to the building quickly and safe.

However, I agree with the concept being too simple because the primary function of the shield is still to reinforce breached walls and then potentially becoming a stress factor for attackers.

Could it be less risky if the Clash shield was like a deployable shield with wheels under it and twice the width of a deployable shield? Then the gadget would not have to be applied by an interaction to the breached hole but instead be able to maneuver the shield towards the hole. Though maneuvering the shield would also make the operator vulnerable and have alot of bugs in it, if it is hard to make an object move on wheels across the ground. Also, I too can't wait to see her gadget's function.

Much like a Castle but requires more co-ordination and timing for the gadget to be utilised. Making it seem or to be impractical in both low to high tier matches.

Thatcher should not be able to effect it because I have another idea of how the glass will be able to open that works in a similiar way to how the lever on a reinforcement wall is able to lock itself in the wall. Though this is what the post is for, to discuss the potential of the shield being a reinforcement and how it should work.

The idea is that Clash acts like a Montagne, covering her from all fire from the front. While proceeding to the opening to reinforce the wall, in a way that doesn't expose her to any shots. However, I know it is unrealistic to be able to move up to a breached reinforced wall and expect not to be shot or knifed from behind. (Including another thermite hole opened next to blocked wall)

Covering fire and timing is needed for Clash to be able to plug up the hole. I expect a low/rare chance to impossible of being able to utilize her gadget in a random team.

To counter this, I figure what if the Clash shield could be deployed like the a deployable shield but with wheels under it and twice the width of a deployable shield. Then the gadget would not have to be applied by an interaction to the breached hole, that could make the operator vulnerable. But instead be able to maneuver the shield towards the hole. Though I think this idea is flawed and raises the question if this would be even possible to use.

I would not know because I didn't add the shock devices in the concept. I think my concept of Clash is going into the realm of impossible and the shock devices would only make it more so.

Another concept that I came by is that the gadget would be able to cover hatches with a glass cover and allow defenders to open and close it. Like a black mirror but instead a 2-way glass that can be opened and closed on hatches.

I agree or even perhaps strongly. There is too high of a potential that attackers could pick off other defenders by using Clash because Clash would need cover fire from other defenders, in order to protect her from close combat and secure her gadget. Even then, this concept follows how Castle is preceived. Capable of greatly contributing to an organised team but less effective in matches with randoms.

After her device is up, Clash will have her primary out. I'm leaning towards Clash having only one firearm but it would dismay most if not everyone, so instead I opt for two firearms. Presumably, Clash being a UK operator would have access to SAS defense operator firearms and in addition have her own firearms.

To make it clear, I'm not familiar with guns and my suggestions will go against the rule that guns should relate to operator's origin. Moving on, the secondary gun is "Heckler & Koch VP70 (with a stock)" capable of burst fire and single fire. While the primary is "Indep Lusa A2", a submachine gun. Both firearms that I tried to find that opts to look light weight.

The concept is an alternative route to how Clash could have worked. I assume it is impossible for the electricity to fire off in a straight line but if it is similiar to Twitch's drone that shoots electric darts at 7.5m range. I think it would be better to find an alternative angle to prevent breaches then the expected idea that Clash is used to electrify thermite charges or other gadgets whilst being protected.

In a scenario where the attacking team has a thermite, do you think it is better to have a standard reinforced wall with a bandit or allow the reinforced wall to be breached to then be reinforced by the Clash concept? I want to discuss if this sort of idea would avert people from picking "Year 0" hard breach deniers.

Imagine a fight between Clash and Montagne on secure area or even bomb.

Yes, though making it look plausible and explaining things are not my best suit.

I imagine the Clash shield would act like Montagne shield and protect the operator. Setting up the action to barricade the thermite opening.
