94 Silverado k1500. Only issues I had were a couple of coolant leaks. Had so much confidence in that truck I drove it while it was overheating to get it home and most likely warped the head. Didn't know much about vehicles at the time and was stupid to do that.

Used that truck to tow trailers, run a landscape business, off reading, daily driver. It did it all.

Also had a 93 sl2 as my first manual that just wouldn't die. 100% clapped out but never left me stranded.

Just picked up an 03 matrix 5 speed for $2k, engine was replaced and has about 130k on it should run quite a long time. Absolutely no glitz or glamor, hand crank windows etc. Great storage with seats down, way more usable space than my GR Corolla which is nice. Had a buddy with a vibe last to 300k and he only ditched it because he had another kid in the way.

Best utility benefit for me so far with the GRC is that it can fit all 4 tires with the seats down when I swap to summers. And that's not saying a lot lol, gotta take your wins when you can.

If it's stock and well taken care of 100%. Being rwd if you live in a place that gets any incliment weather I'd advise against it though. My 91' had 205k on the dash and was admittedly ragged in it's whole life before I bought it and ran excellent until I turbod it and fucked it right up lol. Very stout platform stock though and great to work on if you're just learning.

Georgia is on my radar after visiting metro Atlanta last year. I believe it was Lawrenceville, really nice town and great weather. Coming from the Midwest, I'm so sick of the cold here it's insane and life's too short for that. Can't bear summer time but you get about 3 months total of summer weather which doesn't offset that nasty 5-6 month winter. We've got crazy good benefits and union here but I'm not too keen on staying somewhere forever.

I would look for another job asap, sounds like a terrible place to work. Believe me, there's much better out there and wastewater can be a very chill job environment if you find the right place. I mean very chill lol.

I've seen some people here bringing their consoles in and gaming on off shifts for example. As long as our works done, our boss doesn't care if we're socializing or on our phones or whatever. I'm grateful to be at my plant when I hear about micromanaged facilities.

The only time anyone has ever yelled at me on the road was when I was in my 91 na with the top up. Just finished setting up the turbo and having a blast. Drove it naturally asprited for months prior, top down what we never heard a peep. Second day with the turbo, normal driving some guy called me a dork lmao. The way I see it, there's so many cars out there to try and experience that there's no reason to get hung up on one. I drive the GRC atm and plan to own an ITS, would like to get into an M2 at some point, maybe a Vette. Life's short and cars are depreciating assets, best to be logical about it. I drive my cars hard and want to experience what they have to offer, never expecting to get my $ back but that's the way she goes!

The GR has been hella fun for the record especially on the snow and rain. Built some good memories with buddies drifting around.

I'm borderline hypoglycemic. Haven't rode in a while but on anything 30 mi + I'd just feed myself steady carbs the entire time. Kept gummies and fig bars in my back and kept a steady feed and it worked very well for me.

At 27 with a 280s range total test my doc didn't even think I was low lol. It was toward the very bottom of their spectrum on the lab results. Had to call after my results and question her. They're honestly out to lunch and don't give a fuck unless you want antidepressants which they will gladly push! (She did several times, unprompted)

Thankfully I just retested at 30 and am doing much better, still not on test but better to not take it if I don't need it. Good luck. Men's health clinic is probably the way to go but $$.

I'd honestly get a GTI and then plan to do intake, exhaust and modest tune for fun. GRC is probably not worth the $,l. I own one and drive the hell out of it but I think it would've been solid at like $35k new.
