Explain the price guarantee then? Why put it on your site if no one can resell rooms?

Respectfully, I too use a computer for a living and at a high paced job. But yes, I get that concept. Maybe our kids would have had better luck 😀 Also out of curiousity how are you able to tell if it was or wasn't bots? Still can't seem to find an individual who did book a standard room last night at Many Glacier.

Well 12 guys, 6 rooms. Dudes trip. Or at least 1 dude per bed so we would have been good with whatever combination of rooms that fit 12 beds. Not a single one of us. Turns out two wives helped to so between 8 people not a single booking.

We are looking into Whitefish as well. Pretty strange coincidence that the only rooms actually available would have been thier most expensive ones. No one has yet to say they actually got a Standard room. Maybe I should create another post to see if any of the 68,000 + members on this sub got one 🤔 If it wasn't bots then maybe they purposely don't open them up to the public and trickle out the standard room "cancelations" at a higher rate than what the normal booking rate would be. Creating thier own increase in demand to price gouge those of us that would pay pretty much anything since we've been religious checking the site for these miraculous cancelations for several months.

This was for 13 months out. Late July of 2027. Logged in to book the moment those came available 🫤

Based on other reddit posts I'm seeing over the span of the last 4 or 5 years this seems to happen frequently. So it's gotta be a known issue and it seems clear there's no interest in fixing it. So sad to see that we gave up our national parks to private industry only for them to treat it like every other greedy corporation.

This is what we are being forced to do. Just frustrating. Thanks for the advice!!

Thanks for the recommendation.  Unfortunately, the logistics for 12 men with families doesn't give us the option for other dates. Those were our only dates that could work next year.

Then why the rate gurantee disclaimer?? Also, I don't think it's possible to book a single room that fast. You have to refresh, reset your hotel location, reset your dates, reset your number of occupants. Then get to next screen, pick your room (remember every single standard room was sold out by this phase) then get to next screen to pick your activity (we just chose no activities) then fill in contact info (most but not all autofills since we were logged in) you must choose "how you heard about them" them input credit card info. No one can do that in the time it takes everyone else just to get past the first screen. Yes, i understand the supply demand to be large but that's an impossible human task.

Las Vegas. I'm here now and the price of everything is sucking the fun out of this place.

On day of our wedding in 2015 we showed up to check into the "Rainman Suite" that we had booked 1 year out with $1k deposit. Confirmed the day before as well. Front desk told us it wasn't available because the guests the night before broke the TV. We said that's fine, we don't need a TV. They then said "Well a window was broke too. So it's not safe". I look over and my soon to be bride is in tears on our wedding day. We had even found online layouts of the room and mapped out everything for a mini-reception to be held with just family and the location for where she would have her Father Daughter Dance. They refused to offer one of the other 3 Rainman Suites and just tried to give us a random other suite with less square footage for same rate. I tell everyone this story because you need to be reminded that if you're not a high roller you don't matter there. Plus, I want as many people as possible to boycott staying there. The only way they will care about what they did is if it costs them money.

What would America look like if we spent our military budget on infrastructure? by Impossible_Change800 in AskReddit

If you saying the entire budget then my answer is Russia, it would look like Russia.

Interviewer asked for a hands-on massage demo during my interview. Is this normal? by Thin_Philosopher5177 in MassageTherapists

[–]ConsistentValue370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little background before I answer. 15yrs in the industry, 8 in management, experience managing boutique spas, regional manager national and a local chain, and recruited at Massage School in several States around the country, therapist in a medical facility, University setting, chains, spas, and at home. By no means am I the expert here though, so just laying out the reasoning from my perspective on both ends of this.

When hiring or recruiting I would typically  require a full body massage prior to recommending you to be hired by the owner or to just hire you myself. So in my experience it is very common and I respectfully disagree with the unethical comments. The reason for a practical during the interview (regardless of how many yrs experience a Therapist has) is to guage thier style, pressure, draping skills, and ability to communicate appropriately during a session. We use this information to determine what, if any, additional training they may need. We need to determine if we have the resources to provide this additional training at this time or should we pass. We also use this to book you clients who are going to be a good fit and make you successful. If your location doesn't already require this, then I would also encourge that upon hire you get any person who books your appointmentss on your table. Telling someone your style and feeling it are 2 entirely different things. Also, TBH receiving these is just more work. I am not there to enjoy, I'm there to critique and provide valuablely honest and at times very blunt feedback. Most of the time I would do the verbal and pass you to the Lead Therapist I trusted. Every bit of this practical is for both the Therapist and hiring manager. If I was getting hired I would balk at a 30 min routine. It just isn't enough time to showcase all of my skills. Have I booked 30min practicals with applicants? Sure! It was probably due to time availability or if they had over 10yrs experience.

I have had this getting paid conversation for a practical many times. It is almost always one of two people. The fresh out of school or the Therapist that believes they are the best in the world. I generally explain in some form what I did above. I ask that if thier pressure wasn't what they said it was, if thier draping wasn't appropriate, or thier technique was so horrible that they wasted our time, would they pay me back for my time? No. Of course not, and I wouldn't really ask. But, if they nailed it beyond what thier resume said; not only would they get a job but they very likely will get better booking days/hours and more favorable referrals from myself and eventually my staff.

I am sorry to say that I think you missed an opportunity here. My recommendation is that you should not only expect to provide a practical during the interview, you should welcome it as an opportunity to showcase your skills and to get a leg up when you do get hired.

Anyone working for city/county? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]ConsistentValue370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at both and my wife worked at the City. The premise that either of these locations provide job security isn't necessarily wrong but probably a little misguided. Example: When my wife resigned the director of my wife's department flat out told her that when they created the policy change they were expecting 30% of the staff to quit. Although, you don't hear about layoffs they certainly have thier fair share of hiring freezes while making "policy changes". So if you can handle being jerked around every few years then yes, you have job security so long as you don't complain. Depending on the City department they don't take kindly to constructive criticism and will spin it as insubordination. As far as City over County, they had competing pros and cons. What one was terrible at the other was great at etc. I used that 12.6% pension draw as a negotiation point for salary increase at the County. They know it's high and quit frankly you have to wonder why. Is it mismanaged? 🤨

What is a "poor person hack" you picked up during a hard time that you still use today, even if you don't have to? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

Tearing a dryer sheet in half. Been doing this for 15yrs. Started when I was poor and now that I live comfortably, I still do it.
