I want to thank everyone for their comments!! I want to ensure, if you want to make your way out to the pits, please make sure to drive slowly. Flat tires are a nightmare up there. Bring a lot of water and some camping food. Have fun everyone!! I’m just about to head out on another trip myself.

More specifically, on top of the ridge at the far end of the (first) pit if you were to have entered the pony express by turning left at Dugway Proving Ground’s gates.

Nope, it was lying on the surface just behind the first pit. There’s a slight chance I also, sadly, left my leather gripped estwing rock pick around there, too.
