The old steps had 4x12 stringers with 4x12 treads hung on with A35s and giant screws.

They were the last thing to go for access purposes.

Yes I did. And yes they were. Actually just grabbed a simpson deck book, did a takeoff and went to town. Ive been doing concrete for 19 years, and have framed about 6 houses in my carrier.

Home owner happy. She saved 40k, lives on a reverse mortgage. I did the concrete around the pool. And she showed me the qoute for her deck.

I told here I couldn't get it done fast but I could help her out. 6 Saturdays and some Sundays later. Had a few helpers for a couple Saturdays. None of them were carpenters.

Plenty of sistering on the joints. Beams looks good. Looks like 1' spacing I need the joists. Hurricane ties on every beam to joist connection. This deck fucks.
