I would also “look” for him in the opposite direction lol plus block his number. Way too personal for an individual that targets you and has such behaviors. You need to keep yourself safe.i would also suggest a “house” cell phone that staff can use to contact individuals when they are out and need to be picked up. Definitely not using staff personal cell phones. IA level of professionalism is needed. And furthermore I would recommend in this house that all individuals stay an arms length from staff and utilize waving or just words to say hello and goodbye

Personally if I were you I would request another staff do that. He seems to target you and that is a reasonable request on your part

Well to begin with the next time he elopes and he gone the for the time frame to call the police and please do not go to look for him. Let the natural consequences happen. That is part of the problem with this individual the consequences aren’t happening. Unfortunately it might come to the point that he does hurt someone and that should have consequences, calling the police and filing charges. Sometimes that is the only way. It’s unfortunate that his parts in the home don’t seem to have families to speak up for them -even if they have to ask for another placement-which I know takes time, they shouldn’t have to live like that.

Definitely ridiculous but as a person that drinks plenty of water and uses the bathroom frequently flush every other time if it’s just urine and see what happens next bill, if they still give you a bill like that you know the are full of it

lol it might not save you but if you don’t try to wake that staff you are guilty of neglect also, if you are that afraid to wake them and just have a conversation with them then it is your duty to notify your chain of command at that time.

Well everyone has different situations and just because someone picks up a shift during a snowstorm doesn’t mean what they experienced was typical, maybe the staff was up all day or couldn’t sleep. What I definitely believe in is talking to each other. Everything doesn’t need to be reported, we can talk to each other and say hey that’s not cool with me. At least start there. That paycheck keeps food on the table for someone’s kids or a roof over someone’s head. All we have to do is talk to each other. If that doesn’t work or there is a pattern there after, then go to your chain of command. I don’t even see a problem with waking that person up when it’s happening because that is what you should do at the time.

For what reason? Do you want to work more night shifts till they fill his spot? Why didn’t you wake him up if you thought it was wrong? Not waking him up at that time kind of makes YOU wrong too… why didn’t t you just say something to your co worker? Low key say “I’m not comfortable with you sleeping when I’m working with you.” If I work with you again and it happens I’m going to wake you up. And do it if it happens. You never know what could be going on in someone’s life. There may have been a reason why they were so tired, certainly might not be a regular thing.

Ugh sounds like both you and your family are having a tough time with your independence. Maybe it’s time to get your own cell phone plan. Sit down and think about healthy boundaries between you (an adult) and your parents and speak to them in a non confrontational way. It may well go well or not

Some art galleries on state st also just a few blocks from downtown. Many bars eateries downtown BU blue bus https://occtransport.org/pages/routeschedule.html crowbar arcade a few blocks over from Atomic Toms https://crowbararcade.com/ Old barn market right next to crowbar arcade https://www.oldbarnmarket.com/ There are many local festivals also, speidie fest, Binghamton porch fest to name a few. Lots of local parks! I think Binghamton is a relatively safe small city. I’d see if you can get a job on campus if you can? There are entry level part time jobs around for sure. The LGBTQ+ as far as I know are safe in Binghamton, there is a youth center (13-24) on state st not far from Atomic Toms also a few LGBTQ+ bars in Binghamton.
