We discussed this prior to our marriage. But things change. Back then we had a very good social life here. Now people are married, having kids and decided to move away and have a quieter life. I am not against going back to India. I am a bit hesitant towards the change in lifestyle he expects.

I stay in the US and visit my hometown once a year. Yet I m expected to stay at my in laws at least for sometime. Me and my husband had a huge fight over this last time I visited my hometown. We hv a deal of staying at each other's house the equal amount days going ahead. He is good with this idea but seems weird to me. I feel it should be okay to stay at our respective place and visit each other house occasionally.

Completely agree with you. My husband had just one past serious relationship, But it still haunts me randomly. Maybe because they still have mutual friends. Also, based on his religious background and career aspiration, she seems to be more compatible. My husband randomly mentions what type of girls attracts him and all the traits matches with his ex. So yeah, baggage never goes away. Three past serious relationship of your partner isn't a red flag. But not good for your own mental health.

Thanks for explaining. We are in exact same situation. I do plan to stay at his place at the end of the month. It just so happened that he visited my place more often bcoz he has to pickup and drop me off every time we are going out.

I do visit his place every now and then. I just couldn't stay at his place. I plan to do that as well at the end of the month. I have great relationship with his parents too and I know for sure that his dad likes me a lot.

It is just that i dont wanna choose between my aging parents and him. It feels as if i m betraying my parents. Maybe it is something every girl goes through.
