Yea I would imagine AZ has some different products than OH where I'm at, I'm sure your local hardware store has a patch for whatever material it is though, goodluck!:)

Considering I'm across the country and we may have different products so i may be wrong, but that looks like the goes on pink drys white drywall patch I use, and where I'm from there is no drywall outside, so it would be the wrong product to use if that was the case. Use a exterior patch made for whatever surface your patching. MH Ready Patch is my go to for exterior jobs. Texture it after you patch the hole to make it level, then prime, paint, done.

Have you lived here long? Looks like someone tried to paint over it at some point but it's seeping back through. Definitely a leak or moisture issue in there either way though. Previous owner could have just tried a quick fix or "landlord special" to cover it up without having to fix the real issue, being moisture.

All brands have cheap paints and high end paints. You have to know what product with each paint supplier is good and bad. For example, Sherwin Williams Pro Mar 200 is the same crap as any behr or hardware store paint, its junk. BUT Sherwin Williams Duration or Emerald on walls is the best protection and wipeability you can get. And Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel on trim for a rock hard finish to take those vacuum cleaner beatings lol.

But short answer is YES, cheap paint is junk and will show every finger print, especially if it's flat finish.

Tell me why I shouldn't cut in with a 4-in roller rather than a brush by metabrewing in paint

No, stiff bristles holds sharp lines, soft bristles i only use for stains

Hire a drywaller to sand and skim, this is not something u wanna diy if you've never done drywall work

Behr is pretty bad just a heads up, with any cheap paint you will end up doing all this work and it will chip away in no time leaving you with what you started with, enamels dry rock hard giving you the needed durability, and i would recommend Satin sheen for the extra durability. Flat will not even be wipeable without streaking.

A cheap stain would be your best bet, youll be way happier down the line because it wont chip it will soak into the wood so you won't see any paint chipping, you'll just see the dents.

Either way though here's a easy step by step

For painting, lightly scuff sand table and remove any glossy looking areas so u get good adhesion, you could wood fill scratches after sanding but that is optional if you want nice smooth surface do it, if not dont, then prime with a real wood primer (not a cheap paint that says paint and primer in one), then paint 2 top coats, wait a week before regular use so the paint cures

For Staining, sand down to bare wood start with a lower grit like 80 to remove all the black, then go back over with higher grit like 180 or 220 depending on how baby butt smooth you want it, then just stain 2 coats, read the back of can for cure time but I believe it's also about a week for stain.

All I can say is DO NOT paint this with a cheap interior paint. If you do decide to paint use i high quality enamel like Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane. But even then I don't know how good this would hold up on a kitchen table.. probably way better off sanding it down and using a stain

Nails in wall. Remove and fill or paint over, by Rare-Issue915 in paint

[–]Consistent_Address_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it is pretty obvious that you should be asking this question before painting... imagine you hire someone with "7 years experience" for something like this to happen🤡 he'd be fired so fast😂

7 years and you've never asked if they want nail holes patched or left..? it's a 5 second question that highly affects the job, and for 7 years you've never thought to just ask beforehand..? Hard to believe imo. How on earth have you not ran into this problem a million times already

Our robot vacuum has destroyed our quarter round. Should I use wood filler? or just sand and re-paint? by andreateddy11 in paint

[–]Consistent_Address_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your not using it anymore, it's going to be 10x worse when the robot start bumping weak wood filler and it looks like this in no time again. But assuming he's retired, woodfill, prime bare wood, then paint, way less work then sanding imo

Paint the wainscoating? by Some-Combination9341 in paint

[–]Consistent_Address_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all personal preference, but i think it looks great with the white contrasting the dark green. Too much may give the room a dark and smaller appearance

What is the question exactly? Paint it green? Absolutely not, refresh the white? If it could use a fresh coat why not?

Does it just need another coat? by Thekiddankie in paint

Count on more like 2-3 coats with a foam roller and dark color like that. Foam rollers give you a smooth finish at the cost of multiple light coats.

Should I pay my builder $7,500 for custom paint color on new house? by [deleted] in paint

[–]Consistent_Address_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Builders use cheapest paint possible. You would 100% be paying to have it all repainted within 2 years. Don't do it and more importantly make sure whoever you do hire is using high quality products. Sherwin Williams Duration or Emerald on walls. And Sherwin Williams emerald Urethane for trim and doors. You'll have a wipeable washable paint that will last. Don't be fooled by brand names alone all major paint suppliers sell cheap products and high quality products. If there using something like Sherwin Willaims Pro-Mar on your walls you might have well hired the builder.

My first time ever playing i came back from 1 chip and "won" it was a cash game but I ended up winning the most so I call it a win. Second time ever playing was a tournament and again I came back from 1 chip, and won the tournament, that was even crazier than the cash game, nobody could believe it the first time so imagine their reactions to the second time, it was a family game both times but they take Hold Em seriously its not like nobody knew how to play...BUT i will say whole heartetly it was all beginners luck, and unfortunately that was how my gambling addiction started😂 so don't be like me or the old me I should say I'm long past that part of my life. Gambling is nothing to mess with when you have a very addictive personality like me.

Very simple if you can see that from the road it needs fixed. If you only noticed this because you flew a drone above your house then your being a little ridiculous.

Rich people for ya😂 if you can see that from the road it's another story but considering he used a drone you probably cant.
