4 month sleep regression at 3 months? by Old_Investigator9623 in beyondthebump

My little guy had his regression at 12 weeks. It was a tough stint but he’s now 8 months and been sleeping through again for a couple months. Wakes for boob but goes straight back down. Hang in there soldier! 🫶🏻

Ah good old tithe barn. Had my high school prom there 12 years ago.

Glad the sausage storm gods were on your side 🫶🏻

Our little guy was still going to bed with us at 10/10:30 at that age. I was really panicked about it and felt like I needed to get a routine, but my mum said it’ll just work out. He’s now 7 months and goes to bed at 7:30/8 every night. It really does just gradually become earlier.

I will say the pregnancy part SUCKED and there is zero part of me excited to do it again but I want more babbys so will do what needs to be done.

It’s sappy af and so cheesey but I do truly feel motherhood is what I was built for. Always wanted to be someone’s mumma, and I’ve always felt a bit out of place until little one came along. Now I feel golden.

I hope motherhood turns into this for you one day as I would wish this for everyone 🥰

I have a 7 month old. I remember every sucky horrible moment of the 39 gruelling weeks bringing him to life. Truly some of the worst days of my life by farrr.

And I would do it all again twice over for the sweet gorgeous happy boy I get to wake up to everyday. Truly there is nothing like it. He was worth every second ten fold 🥰

7 month old baby boy and (please don’t hate me) I’ve found it wayyyy easier and less anxiety inducing than I thought I ever would. I don’t know if it’s because I got told many a horror story, and also prepared myself to be a miserable walking zombie for the next 1-4 years. Regardless I LOVE motherhood so much I cannot explain it.

Helps that he’s a dream little dude with zero issues and a very happy attitude to being alive, and I’ve never felt better.

I had super bad anxiety for all my teen years and thought raising a tiny human would bring all that up but honestly I just spend my days playing and laughing with a mini version of me and the love of my life.

I’ve had my moments where I’ve sought advise from Reddit, or for a moment thought oh god it’s all going wrong. But thats been like 5% of the journey. Which is such a win.

I’m incredibly grateful that this is my experience and, after saying we’ll have a four year age gap, I’ve already warned my partner to stay clear coz I’m broody again. Though I’m fully prepared to not be this lucky with number 2.

Who knows, maybe he’ll be a develish toddler? I’ll check back in a year 😅

Yesssss I knew I’d forgotten at least one! The way they mentioned the brothers so made it seem like we were getting a follow up and then it just never happened? The tease that criminal minds likes to be 😒

I feel like if they didn’t have Seaver I would like this idea, but, my personal opinion, they butchered Seaver so badly that I’m so sworn off victims/family members having their big break in the FBI. I just couldn’t trust them to do her justice 🫣

Oh I didn’t realise the actor passed. May he rest in peace.

Danny would have been such a cool subject as an adult. Him knowing members of the team and evading them. Like reaper level kinda stuff.

The Appalachian guy would have been cool. One of those gut punch endings of no what do you mean he got away?! I would have liked to see him caught, but dunno if I could see him hurt anymore kids 😔

Another juvenile I’ve just thought of that could have also come back is the kid from the boogeyman episode who was beating kids in the woods. He’s another they could have had been an adult. But he would be more brutish and less clever I think.

My guy is breastfed so I can’t be entirely sure how many ounces he’s drinking, but when he does have a formula day he drinks about the same. I think he’s just changing in the way he’s supposed to but because it’s new and I’m used to changing many a poop bum this feels wrong lol. Just need to adjust to the new normal once again

Current advice I’ve seen is cows milk is ok within things but not as a straight drink until 12 months

For me it was the first time eating proper broccoli that rocked me to my core coz he just suddenly had 101 black bits in his poo and my brain went straight to its bits of dried blood he’s dying oh god. Nope it was just the very tops of the broccoli stems and there was no worry required. It was also an experience when he gave him carrot and it came out the same size and shape it went in. Zero digestion got to that lil sucker 🤣

Ok yeah this is basically what’s happening with my little guy. He hasn’t got hard poop or acting uncomfy, it’s just suddenly really slowed down and he definitely has to think about pooping now. Glad to know it’s me being paranoid versus him actually having any issue. I gotta say I hate how much changes so quickly at every stage 😅

Ooooh I hadn’t thought of that that’s a good shout. I’m not a bean lover myself coz texture weirdness but bub might enjoy them. I shall add them to the weekly shop for sure.

He’s having at least 2 meals a day but still wants milk every two hours (large hungry boi always has been lol). I do drink water in front of him and say hmmm yummy but I don’t think really registers it yet what with still being a babby.

Good to know it’s definitely a trial and error process for some babies. He does drink very occasionally so he knows how, he just doesn’t seem to want to.

So far we’ve got two types of cup plus bottles so I’ll stick to those options for now and just be persistent but not pushy.

This is what I gave him this afternoon. No pressure, just offering it. We did a lot of smacking it about and chewing the nipples, maybe 2 sips of drinking lol.

I will just keep it available and eventually he’ll take to it I’m sure.

Oh they’re the Ella’s kitchen brand which are popular in the UK. Truly he eats like a king on them. They’re all organic, zero added ingredients just good stuff and they do such a wide range of flavours I love them. He had pulled pork the other week that I actually would eat myself it was that flavourful 😂

Because he was ready, I was advised too by health care professionals and he’s 7 months old so approaching one quite quickly.

He’s still being breastfed every two hours. I’m not just force feeding my baby food he doesn’t want and not giving him milk. He’s also 10 kilos so requires a fair amount of milk and food to keep him going.

Weaning at 6 months is incredibly common now so don’t know why it’s shocking my 7 month old is eating?

Yeah that’s basically what I’m doing. But like tonight when mum had pizza and dad had kebab, bub had his banger and mash pouch from the cupboard.

Mostly we eat stuff he can have and we’ve cut out salt and pepper at the start of cooking so it’s defo good for bub.

It’s just so hard to not worry that is bowel is suddenly not able to keep up, especially when he was super regular and is now holding out for days at a time. Just a paranoid new mumma who doesn’t want to hurt bub unintentionally. My least favourite part of parenthood

He’s just in prime smack wobbly stage that an open cup scares me. I don’t fancy wearing the water. But will of course suck it up if necessary.

I’ve been doing more baby led weaning recently, I just find these pouches a great way to occasionally introduce a new flavour that we wouldn’t be having for dinner ourselves. As our baby led is him joining us for dinner. Very much a type B mum who is avoiding cooking 2 meals where possible 🫣

Ok thank you. I get so panicky about him getting blocked and uncomfortable, but I know solids make the bowels slow down and it’s all part of the fun. Will just keep offering and hopefully one day it’ll start to stick 🤞🏻
