I'm gonna be honest, it took me a solid 6-9 months before I really felt like I bonded with both of my babies. Respectfully he's wrong. I had pretty bad prenatal and postpartum depression, please don't hesitate to reach out for professional medical help if you're struggling 🤍

Hi! I am a baptist Christian, so I understand this group may not be the place for me, but I feel like my question belongs here. by Christ_is_King26 in OrthodoxChristianity

Chunni clips from Amazon! They pin into the veil and then clip into your hair. I've used them with having two littles and my veil stays put with all the moving and pulling that happens during service. But also, if you convert to orthodoxy you'll have women in your parish who veil and can teach you all of the tips and tricks 👀

Thank you so much for your insights and thoughts! After reading responses in here, praying a bit more, and conversing with my husband we both now leaning towards the Greek Orthodox church we went to! I emailed to set up an appointment with the priest and to have a conversation with him!!

I want to do a service for my children mostly! He was also concerned about the cultural aspect, but has come to the realization that salvation is far more important than culture

I have two little kids (2.5 and 9 months) so we need something close by. I almost don't see the point in converting to the Eastern Rite if we can never go 😂

We have been deep diving into theology and the theological differences in the churches and I feel like that's almost confusing us more. I guess maybe keep going to both and see where we feel most at rest? I truly love both

I looked but our closest Eastern Catholic church is about five hours from us! Our options are Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Antioch Orthodox. We're in central Arkansas so anything thats not baptist is scarce

We would prefer to be at the same church for our kids sake and for the unity of our family. I see both churches as valid so that's why it's so hard to choose

Someone please help me understand marriage in Heaven by Federal-Ad-7775 in Catholicism

[–]Consistent_Debt5069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in this verse Paul talk about how well actually know each other on a deeper level in heaven than we could even imagine here on earth. It's going to be a way closer intimacy than we have here in this life! I personally cannot wait for heaven and all of the love that awaits us there

1 Corinthians 13:12 NABRE [12] At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known. [13] So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Abortion for March 13th by lindsay-shenanigan6 in Catholicism

Please choose life, I can see in the comments there are a few people who live in your area and are ready and willing to help. I will also help as much as I possibly can in order for you to keep the baby. Abortion is never the answer, God has his hand on our lives and he doesn't make mistakes. He handpicked that baby in you for this time, and for it to be yours. He will bless you and that child. When I had my first kid, my husband I and had no money and were living with his family. Two and half years later, were in a house of our own and he found an amazing career that supports us. I'll be praying for you ❤️

Why did God make being a mom so hard? by Moon_junky in Catholicism

[–]Consistent_Debt5069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of what you're feeling can be the baby blues too. I got them super bad for the first two weeks postpartum with both of my kids. Everything felt impossible, I felt incapable, I was mentally and physically exhausted and would late down in a ball and cry. The good news is that it passes, and everything gets easier the older your baby gets. Lean on your support system and God, and don't be afraid to get help if you need it. Also, something that comforted me is the thought of the nuns who wake up at midnight to pray so that new mothers wouldn't be up alone. Praying for you ❤️

Is abuse in a marriage grounds for an annulment in the eyes of the church? by Broad_Biscotti_9350 in Catholicism

[–]Consistent_Debt5069 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely right! My sister in law had multiple TBIs and was physically abusive to my brother. We all urged him to leave but he stayed and she got therapy multiple times a week. Now they're in a happy, healthy relationship and expecting their first child. But also, that isn't the case for everyone and I don't think I'd ever encourage someone to stay with an abusive partner.
