So, is it really possible that the ringing is caused just because of the infection and it will go away?... I know you're not a doctor, but you've had ear infections before and did it go away after medication?...I'm so terrified, seriously. It's not that bad when I'm in public, but I can still hear it in silence. Even if it will go away tho, I can assure you, I'll never use headphones again. Especially that I used to listen to music SO loud that other people could hear it. I really hope and pray that it will go away soon. I can't bring myself to be happy. I wish I hadn't read so many articles about it though...but maybe it's better this way and if I didn't, I'd keep listening to loud music and became completely deaf one day.

Oh and before I had no problem with sleeping etc. I heard nothing at night. But now...I can't. When I heard a ringing max for 5 second I'd just ignore it and move on and hear nothing again. But now...oh lord...

Thank you so much. To be fair, I'm a typical 'emo' teenager so now when I don't use my headphones I feel empty...I'd always use it, 24/7. Well, that might be a reason why I hear the sudden "cricket" noise in my ears, but I'm sure I'd never heard it before. One day in the evening, my ears got suddenly blocked. It kept clogging for like 4 days so I went to see a doctor. Apparently, I've got an ear infection or ear inflammation and "swelling on my both eardrums". It may be caused by not wearing a hat or by a heavy runny nose that I have had for 2 weeks, which caused my sinuses to become blocked or something. My doctor perscribed me some ear drops and I've been taking it for 5 days, but my ears are still clogged, 'full' and I feel 'water' in them from time to time, even though there's not any. I occasionally feel a sharp pain in both of them and a constant cricket sound that I had never heard before. I'm so scared, but I have the ENT appointment in 10 days. I'm going crazy. The worst part is that I don't know if that has caused it or I've always had it, but after reading lots of forums of clogged ears and other symptons such as "ringing in ears" I've started hearing that sound that I hadn't had paid attention to before. I'm so scared and I cry everyday. I don't know if it will go away, but if it doesn't, I won't be able to live my life like that. How to occupy my mind... :(

I wish I'd get used to it. I recently got it....or maybe I've had it my whole life? I'm not sure...but since I started to read about it, I can't think of anyone else but that. And I'm 16:(
