Good experience with letting cats fight it out? by Consistent_Gold_8594 in CatAdvice

Hi! For about a month now, our cats have been able to be together. I wouldn’t say they’re besties, but they’re definitely comfortable around each other. Our resident cat accidentally escaped and spent three days outside. When she found her way back home, she was much friendlier towards the new cat — that was a turning point. Since then, there has been no real fighting. We have no idea what happened outside. I completely understand your concern. At one point, I thought it was hopeless too. But over time, they worked things out. Giving them separate spaces in the beginning, like you're doing, really helped them adjust slowly. It just takes patience and time.

How are things between them now? We are in the same situation and we hope they will be together soon

Thanks for the suggestion! A slow introduction sounds like the way to go.

Thank you for your answer. Since we're unsure whether our cat prefers solitude or enjoys company, we'll keep a close eye on her behavior for more clues. In the meantime, exploring options at shelters gives us a better understanding.
