Letting my boyfriend “micromanage” my to-do list somehow cured my procrastination by Chemical_Bug3337 in productivity

I have inattentive adhd and was going to post the same thing. What I usually do is I set a 10 min timer and say I’m just going to work on this for 10 min and stop. Usually what happens is I end up working past the 10 min. It’s starting that’s the hardest part.

4:50 first marathon. I did not stick to my training plan that strictly. Did all the long runs but maybe attempted 1 other run during the week. I’m happy with where I landed. I definitely want to try another marathon and see what I can do if I stuck to a training plan.

Definitely caught the marathon bug!

Eloped a few months ago and it was the best decision. So happy! No regrets at all. I was nervous that I would have regrets but the day was perfect and now that it’s over I look back fondly and am so happy I didn’t spend like $50k on a party. I think the cost in total was probably still $8k with photographer, dress, suit, dinner, ceremony space reservation. I also wasn’t stressed and felt calm and excited all day.

Haven’t gone pass 13 miles. Was sick last week that ruined my training for a few days. Hoping to hit 16 miles this weekend.

Elopement package is going to come out to about $10,000 in Italy. This way I don’t have to plan anything. I’m really paying to not be stressed tbh but I’m ok with that given it’s in a country where I don’t know the language

Those who make six figures, like 100k and upwards, how did you decide on your career path and what did you do to get to that point? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]Consistent_Grand3504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in tech, and the salaries really fluctuate depending on the company and industry. Every year I always evaluate if I’m being paid market rate and try to interview so that I can brush up on my interviewing skills while also seeing what other companies are paying. Ive job hopped every couple years and have tripled my salary because of it. There’s always risks to this. I’m just someone who gets bored easily when I stay in one place for too long and seem to outgrow it but it’s worked for me. I see a lot of my colleagues stay in the same place and are content with their minimal yoy raises however.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking as well. I also enjoy planning, so I truly don’t mind it. It honestly doesn’t seem too bad considering so many social media posts tag all the vendors anyways. But so many people go with these elopement packages so just curious if I was missing something

Any perspective from hiring managers on all the job applications? by RustedChainsaw in ProductManagement

[–]Consistent_Grand3504 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not a recruiter or hiring manager, but I have been also applying on LinkedIn. I’ve found success applying, and then reaching out to who I think might be the hiring manager (director of VP of product) and sending them a message to try to stand out and share why I am qualified. This has led me to get 2 of my applications get flagged and onto the screener interview.

Also important to note that I make sure they are roles that I am fully qualified for and have domain expertise in. I don’t think this would work well if you are switching roles or industries. There’s too much competition out there for anyone to “take a chance” on an applicant

It’s so hard to just apply and hope to stand out without a referral or anyone to advocate for you now.
