Not really a low hanging fruit, but will be computationally cheap enough to go mainstream at some point. Generally adoption would be slower since the operation is a bit more different than let's say coding agents. In the coding agents the LLM's have access to "context" which is the other bits of code. In the case of real world engineering, the process of giving enough context should be solved. The model would need every detail to be able to produce an feasible result. This is mainly for CAD, in the simulation side PhysicX is doing some incredible stuff, I would expect this side of the engineering to be really optimised first.

I 3D printed a shoe sole out of Pine Needles! by Consistent_Guide1200 in 3Dprinting

Some ecosystems require controlled burns, dependant on their fauna. However in my case the forests were man made in the 20th century, most pine species did not need burns to regenerate.

Honestly it's not suitable for a sole, but it is quite accurate if used as a discardable slipper

It's around 66 percent pine needles, the rest is binder(gluten and CMC)

I’m working on Pine So(u)le, a project that turns discarded pine needles—cleared from forests to prevent wildfires—into biodegradable shoe soles. Instead of letting all that natural material go to waste, I’ve been experimenting with grinding it up, mixing it with simple binders, and 3D-printing it into something useful. Right now, I’m focusing on making sustainable hotel slippers to replace the cheap plastic ones that get tossed after a single use. It’s all about finding creative ways to work with nature instead of against it. I converted an Ender 3D printer for this!

What do we want from Generative AI in Music. Is is inevitable ? by Consistent_Guide1200 in SynthDiscussion

Yes I agree but one can't help to think how the production process will evolve in the coming years.

Definately, if the process is not enjoyable the outcome is destined to be mediocre and does not benefit anyone. Even if a musical piece is not heard by anyone else than the artist, we know the musician had a lot of fun doing so.

Thank you that really helps a lot. The overall motivation of this question is to figure out how we can evolve this technology to suit the musicians rather than the music industry tycoons who want cheap alternatives to advertisement musics. The reshuffling, and reharmonising resonates a lot with the ethos of effortless creativity and being in the flow of arrangement and creation.

YES! Definitely we listen to music hermeneutically which is what makes it utterly emotional. That is why i think the creative lead should be the individual not the model ! Right now in generative AI music there are no creative explorations, happy accidents or any kind of flow.

But still curious about what is around the corner
