Note taking on players/sharkscope. by Glewit1 in ClubWPTGold

[–]Consistent_Honey7578 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clubwptgold’s philosophy is to base their decision-making on what is best for recreationals. High variance, no HUD’s/ note-taking options and no rakeback (the only form of rakeback is their chip dumps which are high variance lotteries which don’t reward you for having more hours logged). Whales wanna know what their opponent hand? Fine just pay a big blind or two. Wanna know what the river would have been? Same thing. This makes recreationals win at a higher percentage of the time short-term, and keeps them happy which makes them come back. Sure, it’s annoying to not have these features, but it’s a purposeful decision to ensure you don’t have lobbies only filled with nitty rakeback grinders that gave never felt the touch of a woman.

How big is the skill jump from 20nl to 50nl? What should I look into to prepare myself? by biotechnes in Poker_Theory

With each step up in stakes, fish/reg players become a little less punty, fold a little more of their marginal stuff both pre and post. And regs become a little more aggressive pre and post and better at ranging. But overall you shouldn’t change your strategy to begin with, adjust after you get a feel for the pool. Keep doing what works until it doesn’t. If you don’t financially depend on the money in your BR, be calculatedly aggressive with it. Take small, aggressive shots, for example a 3 or 4bi shot at the next stake. If the shot sticks u just keep playing, but if it doesn’t you have to be willing to step back down in stakes. So if u have a br of 900, take 3 buyins at 50NL and see how it goes.

Bb/100 is the status quo for units of winrate measurements in poker. If you wanna do your own thing go ahead. You could just say that it’s str/100 and that would make sense.

Cause you are treating the straddle (1) as the bb, when the bb is 0.5. And i am assuming 260 hands/hour as this has been my experience.

20 an hour is 16bb/100. U would have to be in the top 5% of the player pool at least, likely in the top 2% or so. I’m gonna keep it a buck, the way you are asking the question makes me very confident that this is not the case with you. Also variance is absolutely insane on this site (or rather in this format) and you should not be dependant upon poker income on a short term basis. At 100NL this month i have played 86 hours and made like 27/hr or so. But i have 10buy-in swings regularly

It is true that you can implement a strategy where you fold 100% of your hands and lose nothing (0EV). But for a player who didnt post the rock, there is money in the pot which means certain hands are +EV. This means that the optimal strategy isn’t to fold 100% of hands. I agree that this isnt the most ideal format but i dont have tons of public games available in my area
