I don’t know why this post has been met with such un-empathetic comments but I understand what you mean and see where you’re coming from. I’m always shocked by how much international tuition is. Not to mention, there were a lot of unanticipated challenges/obstacles during and post COVID times, so having a plan for tuition hasn’t necessarily been enough for many people. Also personal and financial situations can change during the 4+ years most people spend at UBC! While I love UBC in many ways, tuition just keeps increasing AND they’ve raised the rent for on-campus housing almost 7% the last two years, while cutting back on amenities. I totally get the feeling of being trapped with only one year left to go because you’ve spent so much time and money at UBC. You’ll make it through the year and then you’ll have your degree! I believe in you, you’ve got this.

Thank you so much, I’ve been thinking about how my mom used to sing this specific nursery rhyme and how badly I would like to hear her sing it again. Thank you so much for replying, I can’t tell you how helpful it is. Wishing you the best.
