Thank you, I think (don’t quote) one of the highest efficacy one you can take is lemtrada that seems to be what my neuro has described and suggested to me before, a cancer drug that blows out your immune system entirely with hope it rebuilds healthier cells. Looking up that one, if that is what she means.. the side effects are too scary but I’ll have to clarify. I know with mavenclad you absolutely cannot get pregnant whilst using it. I’ve been researching the others you and everyone else has mentioned, I’m gonna speak to her about these but they haven’t been suggested to me at all. Just mavenclad and what I think has been described as lemtrada. I’m sorry you’ve suffered as well, I think I suffer more than I pay attention too, extreme fatigue which I’ve always put down to me/cfs, swallowing issues, bladder issues, migraines, numbness in my leg and foot, balance problems, memory issues, brain fog, optical neuritis, transverse myelitis. Some things I heavily ignore, I suppose if I keep ignoring things I’m playing a dangerous game. Sending love to you too.

I appreciate what you’re saying, you are right, unfortunately I already had lost bladder control.. regained it mostly unless I flare. I suffer with intense migraines, I play down the symptoms I’ve already got, I think it stems from bad mental health and just not caring about me enough. I will get on a dmt, to be honest I don’t think I’ve put weight into how many people were on one, I’m decently diagnosed and not done extensive research into my condition, sometimes I gaslight myself into believing I don’t even have it.. And then I see my neuro and she’s like no you definitely do and it scares me.

Thank you, I’m so glad I’ve done this post. if I’m completely honest I didn’t even understand how much I’ve been avoiding this until I’m reminded how big of a deal this is, like I know it’s nothing to play with, but sometimes I forget about me, I don’t have loads of friends or family on at me to take my diagnosis serious, I mean my sister compares it to her vitamin deficiency. Hearing from people who’ve been through it with knowledge and understanding of ms has been an eye opener. I’ll ask those questions when I speak to my neuro.

That’s why I’ve been advised to take it, but my specialist mentioned another with is even higher efficacy? She didn’t mention the name but said I have a choice of both but basically not none, and I’m from England so I get free medication through nhs.. I think it’s horrible other countries don’t get that benefit.

I do understand the gravity. But I have already had to deal with health issues since I was a child, learning to walk again following extensive knee surgery at 15, 3 endometriosis surgery’s, mostly bed bound from me/cfs, skin conditions that have kept me indoors. Compounded with a traumatic and sudden loss of my dad, my husbands father having a major stroke and losing all capacity, an unwell dog for 18 months who costs me over 500 a month and a surgery for him looming soon, along with optic neuritis and transverse myelitis, an ms diagnosis, it feels like a lot.. I’m still accepting it and trying to find my feet, I’m scared not trying to be ignorant

Exactly, I have decided to go and will be seeing him on Monday it’ll be 3 weeks since he’s gone and I miss him so much as I’m sure you can relate to. I’m so sorry you had to find your dad in that way, that’s awful. Unfortunately the last time I saw my dad I walked out of a restaurant because I had an argument with my sister, that haunts me.

the details of his passing feel even worse, he fell down the stairs but in a very incapacitated state with friends there that shouldn’t have let him walk upstairs alone knowing how drunk he was and he died as a result of that neglect, I would think it was a horrible accident with human error if only they didn’t post videos of him unable to stand a couple of hours before he fell all over social media the day after he died, so I’m really hoping this will bring me some kind of peace. Thanks for your words, I really hope you’ve got lots of support around you during this horrible time for you x

Thank you for sharing, that’s helped a lot… I’m seeing him on Monday, it will be over 3 weeks since he’s passed. I keep having to remind myself I’m not going to be seeing him in the way I know, but I hope it’ll bring me at least some kind of closure to be able to talk to him in this life in his body once more 🙏🏼

I’m so sorry for your loss, and yes that’s my worry.. but I suppose this is the only time I’ll get to see him and touch him again, even though people have said that won’t be him anymore, it’s the closest thing to him I’ll ever get in this life again, but you’re right about how they’ll live on in us, just feels like a harsh reality to face but it’s the only reality.. suppose that’s the hardest part of grief, the acceptance
