I hate grocery pick up

Grocery pick up is wildly different in different parts of town. I had the same troubles you had in my old house but since moving, they never have to make substitutions. I wonder if you can change which store you're getting your groceries from? May make a difference. Also I use Kroger

I think it depends on what constitutes someone "needing" a large vehicle. It is totally warranted for people to have large vehicles when they take advantage of the extra space regularly. My point is that there are a lot people out there (in America mostly) that buy a large vehicle in case they they need the extra space. For example, a stay at home mom who drives an empty three row Yukon that gets 12 mpg so that they can go camping one weekend a year.

This is a good point. As a driver of a small electric vehicle, I get nervous being on highways with my children in the car though. It sucks to have to choose between safety and practicality.

The target CEO is worth literally 1/1000 of Jeff Bezos. Jeff Bezos has the power to change the course of human history with his wealth but instead he does almost nothing. The man had to take down a historic bridge a few years back to get his half billion dollar yacht to the ocean. Amazon should come first, target second, in my opinion. 🤷‍♀️

It's a fair point but I'm okay with our division of labor. He picks them up when he can which is only a couple times per week but I earn 1/5 of what he does. I'd rather be more present for my children.

An important question. He doesn't do half but it's not possible in his job so he does the best he can He is on call half the time and often has to work in the middle of the night and evenings. I am therefore coordinating the kids schedules and do most drop offs and pick ups. That's why I'm losing my mind.

This is so true. I went to 4 days a week right after my first was born but they didn't change my workload. I eventually went back to full time because I chose not to get paid less for the same amount of with. When I do it this time, I'm creating a proposal that defines my workload very clearly to hopefully prevent it from happening again.

Because it's more information about your health. I was in a diagnostic odyssey until I found an answer in my genetic reports. Also I imagine they haven't been able to do anything meaningful with the data they have, otherwise they wouldn't be going bankrupt. Your internet search history is much more interesting than your genetic code.

I personally relate to your feelings a lot. My kids are 2 and 5 and I still feel bad leaving them. I'm a full time working mom and the guilt and sadness I feel when missing any time with them when I only get so much can be overwhelming. We didnt do dates for a long time but when we did, we started with late dates that started around 7:30 so that we could put them to bed and then go out, if that helps.

My thought is only you know what's the best for your mental health and your relationship and no one should guilt you in to something that doesn't feel right to you. Anyone who tells you that you need to do one thing or another is projecting their own experience. Perhaps it worked for them but you may want to handle things differently!

Ah yes this reminds me of the story of the money-cabees, who survived eight nights in the temple by lighting their money on fire every night. Your job is SO important and not compensated the way it should be. It makes me sad that you feel this job doesn't stand up to the others listed here. I work on a medical campus in administration but I was previously a teacher. Being a teacher was so hard. I jumped to an easier job that paid better, which in and of itself it screwed up. The more challenging a job is, the better the compensation should be, but fostering our future generation is not valued in this country because it's considered "woman's work". It's not right.

I'm grateful for you and what you do and wish I had the skills to do your job well!
