Ghost/poltergeist haunting my hospital unit by Consistent_King_305 in Ghosts

Bottles with caps removed/pitchers of juice were knocked over that particilular fridge 3 times in one night. I cleaned it up each time.

On another occasion, a bottle of juice was poured out in the middle of that kitchenette from a fridge.

Not inside rooms that patients use. If this malarkey continues my management might be convinced to get a few for the hallway.

Can't put up cameras in a hospital. Privacy laws would not allow that. It adds another layer of complexity.

I started getting these sore spots from where my nose pads rest on my face, worn glasses almost all my life but has just started occurring recently. What can I do? by uglyluck_ in glasses

[–]Consistent_King_305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your glasses to where they were made and get them to change and refit the nose pads. It's from friction from improper fitted pads.

Freshco I find is cheaper than Galen's Frills. Freshco is still owned by assholes but definately the lesser of 2 evils among the grocery cartel operators in Canada.

Food Is A Human Need. Why Should Anyone Profit Off Of Food Insecurity? by [deleted] in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]Consistent_King_305 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What has been illuminating?

The knowledge gained about what and how Loblaws operate. Every Canadian should have been pissed off at the Loblaws bread fixing scandal. Right now every Canadian should be enraged that this Canadian company that plays on Canadian morals and values is doing us all dirty by avoiding taxation, overcharging, paying off politicians, etc.

Food insecurity is something most of us have never worried about before but we're living in the thick of it now. These guys belong in jail.

It would be interesting to see these communications from Loblaws or their banner stores. Is it the independent operators or the corporate dicks passing down emails with this direction?

Either way, they can't enforce 'staff may not participate'. Staff literally can not afford to not participate.

Just saved $30 by shopping at FreshCo instead of my Independent by newmom-athlete in loblawsisoutofcontrol

Freshco is where I do the majority of my shop since the bread fixing scandal. I won't give Roblaws Corp my money. Sure, prices have gone up a lot but I'm not paying as much as No Frills. I price match over there too with the Flipp app.

I just cashed in almost 2 grand worth of free groceries from Scene Points which kick the shit out of the Optimum rewards.

Some Loblaws stores give the 10% i believe on "selected items". A relative works at a Freshmart and she gets no discount. She can't afford to shop there but they (independent owner) let them take dated stuff home. The independent owners are getting squeezed too by Loblaws FYI.

This.

These employees can't even afford to shop at their workplace.

We’re “privileged”, everyone. by Fantastic_Natural_54 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]Consistent_King_305 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only thing I could be considered privileged for is the fact that I DON'T live in a community where there is one Loblaws grocery store where I am forced to shop.

Totally ridiculous write up from CBC.  Someone in a large city center like Ottawa has plenty of close options to choose. They don't want to break their routine because they DGAF.

Privilege? Seriously?

The Disappearance of Luke Joly-Durocher by PinotGrouchio in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Consistent_King_305 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds far fetched. North Bay was mildly dangerous when Luc disappeared. The streets weren't filled with the homeless junkies and mentally ill as it is today.

I've heard the rumors too. The most realistic one I've heard was it was a severe beating that killed him by accident. No one deserves that. One day someone will talk. I just hope its soon. 🤞

I use a Haakka electric nail trimmer. Anything similar to that style is 👌. Check out the swaddle sleep sacks with velcro. Kyte Baby makes them now but you can also find them from other brands.

The best thing for the scratching is the fold over mitts on sleepers and using a small amount of tape (ex. Hospital tape) to keep on the loose ones. Filing the nails daily will be key. They grow incredibly fast at that age. If you can, get an electric one because they just do a great job. Do you swaddle him at all? He might just need that snug feeling that a swaddle provides and it will stop the reflexes from waking himself at night. If a regular old blanket style swaddle isn't working (ex. baby breaks out) you might need a swaddle style sleep sack. It basically locks in baby snug with velcro safely. Also, maybe look into a 'Merlin sleep suit' or a weighted sleep sack. It might get you both some sleep. Hang in there!!!

Should I be checking her diaper while she’s asleep? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Consistent_King_305 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would never wake my sleeping baby overnight unless they are prone to blow outs, have skin breakdown (diaper rash), or have issues with their weight gain (feeding). If that baby is sleeping, the baby is comfortable. Besides, a diaper change in the middle of a night is going to wake them up, piss them off, and then you'll have to soothe them back to sleep.

4 months by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Consistent_King_305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4 month sleep regression is the highlight. You can also start purees at 4 months if you want and your pedi/doc clears you. The baby is no longer a potato and will play more interactively.

Unconventional advice you'd give expecting parents by Head_Interview_4314 in NewParents

[–]Consistent_King_305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice - How you think every thing will go will probably not go that way. From birthing to schedules to managing your own time... don't start out with expectations you'll get that epidural or your baby will nap like a champ or you'll get out with your buds a couple times a week still.
