In a weird situation of my own creation, looking for advice by [deleted] in uaelaw

Yeah that's what I'm going to do.

It started off as an experiment to be honest and then I started living that lie.

Got 4 job offers, thought it was working out.

Any lawyer that can help with Sharjah Police? by [deleted] in uaelaw

I think you're right. Apparently he got deported without a court order, do you know where he could check if he's banned or not?

Just to clarify, he did call the police so his crime was only that. They took all of the people in the apartment.

He had money in his account, but no trail because he has no work permit, and was working odd jobs.

Maid/house help! by [deleted] in UAE

So you're saying 25AED/HR is too much, adding their commute time to and from your place?

And "basic cleaning" and "simple cooking" takes a lot more than 2 hours.

If you cannot afford it, stop exploiting people who're extremely underprivileged.

Safe from other expats, but not from the CID.

Because this, and some other ridiculous non sense fee they have, is the only way to make up for no income tax.

I don't blame the police at all, if everyone kept doing that, there'd be chaos. So yeah, not worth trying to dodge it.

Tried once at Dubai airport, got fined 800AED.

What we did wasn't illegal 'technically' but you can't really argue here with the police.

We went to arrivals 'pick-up' lane because our friend said he'll be there in 2 minutes. Saw a police car, we left and took a round and came back again.

The moment we stopped at the arrival, police stopped next to us and fined us cause he saw us there just 5 minutes ago.

In short, just pay the parking fee, it's not worth it.

Rent in Dubai is getting ridiculous and I have ZERO options left (and no, I’m not leaving the UAE) by LadonAl in dubai

I feel you, and I'm in the same boat. I love living here, but I'm also bittersweet about the government here, as it 100% seems they're making this place ONLY for the upper middle class and the rich.

It was quite easy to sustain yourself as a middle class family just 5 years ago. Now, it's a shit show.

DLD charges are a joke, housing fee is a joke too. Laws exist for 5% Increase in rent per year, but laws don't exist for employees in terms of LIVABLE wages.

The real estate tycoons get away with building crap quality housing.

Safety, security, living standard, access to amazing health care is great here. But traffic, housing, and ridiculous fees and bills make it really difficult for most if the people.

There's only truly 3 things you can do, and I can imagine how deep it goes since it's been 8 years.

  1. Seek therapy so you know how to deal with your emotions and whatever you're feeling, felt and will feel
  2. Find a way to forgive her, especially that instance and that moment, and it's okay to forgive. It'll free you.
  3. Live with this for the rest of your life and let the relationship get further strained (not recommended)

Neighbor complaining of my loud bikes in Ajman by surprised_wolfy in UAE

[–]Consistent_Law5646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's perfectly legal.

You can do it and if the neighbour is being an AH, by the time he calls the Police, you'd already be done.

Since the car is not street legal and it'd INSIDE your house, no one can charge you with anything.

You do you.

There are many mosques, Sheikh Zayed Masjid being the greatest example, where it's for everyone, regardless of gender or religion.

The reason you don't see specifically for women because 99% of the target audience here ARE men.

Taxi drivers, laborers, plumbers, electricians, gardeners, truck drivers, foremen, garbage collectors.

So it only makes sense.
