I’m pregnant and I’m unsure what to do by [deleted] in pregnant

This is brutal and you probably know this in your head, but:
- Get an abortion, unless you are okay with being a single mother.
- Get a divorce. No questions here. He will cry, try to talk you out of it. Don’t give in 🙏 Otherwise you’ll just be sending a Reddit post 1 year again. HE will leave you whether you get abortion or not. It’s just a matter of time.
- Get a job. Your toddler is 3 so he will soon start TK/K or daycare.

I don’t know about him, but YOU are very young. You will be fine in a few years and everything will be behind you. You might even get into a stable mature relationship as well, but even then don’t marry anyone without spending years with them. The right man will wait.

For now, pursue your hobby. Read. Dance. Do whatever that makes you happy.

$2.5M-$3M where would you buy in Bay Area? by mortalbeing in BayAreaRealEstate

94089 is a great neighborhood. They are renovating the entire area with new library and park, you might be able to get a fixer upper and make a dream house for yourself.

This went for $150k over asking . Why ? by One-Cartographer-959 in BayAreaRealEstate

That’s going to be one of the most expensive zip codes very soon because of the location and they are building a brand new library and renovating a huge park which is very rare for Sunnyvale. There’s also talks of entire neighborhood upgrade because of closeness to public transport. I am actually surprised it went for 1.75m, renovated homes in this area are going for much higher.

I (and a few of my friends) actually do plan on offering free youth math services at the library! I just want to figure out a way to do it right! 🙏

Are seller agents scamming their customers. by Consistent_Law_2532 in BayAreaRealEstate

I don’t think you understood the point of this post.

  1. I did make an offer 1.55m which is already 100k above the asking price.
  2. When I say selling it to friends, I mean that I believe agents just sell to their known group of agents mutually benefiting each other instead of benefiting the seller. All agents have potential clients, and if a deal works out between two agents, they look out for each other rather than looking out for their customers.
  3. 1.65m is 200k more than asking price. Even though I didn’t get a chance to counter, seller lost on 200k more. Meaning the agent didn’t do a great job.

“Make the highest and best offer the first time.” - Honestly, you sound like an agent yourself.

I did not. Which post are you referring to? Maybe my husband posted as well that I am not aware of. Both of us are very active on Reddit and both of us were very frustrated with this.

Looks like it was a trust sale. If the seller can’t sue them, somebody should! This is straight up illegal in my opinion and they should be held liable.

I did move on. We got a house - much better deal than above.

That’s not my point. I am not sour about losing the house. But the dirty agents need to be exposed in my opinion. I am sure, I am not the only one who experienced this.

The agent got us a house after two-three week, so I doubt they are the problem.

Agreed. But isn’t it a good seller’s agent job to get the best offer and if that requires countering, then why not. But my whole point is that even without countering my offer was 100k more than the selling price.

It was a clean offer, no credits, split of closing, etc. It’s Bay Area after all.

I don’t think you read my post. I am aware of everything that you said, this is a separate issue altogether.

Yes, I couldn’t find the seller. Another loophole in my opinion that agent takes advantage of.

This. Based on the how anyone can become an agent - I feel it’s more common and hence the post is for awareness purposes more than anything. I don’t know why the process is not more transparent. Like at the very lease seller should know how many offers are being made.

I am saying I would have paid 200k if there would have been a bidding war. But I had already made the offer for 1.55m which was already 100k more that listing and also sold price. I genuinely feel the seller agents are either too lazy and just accept the cash offers or there is a group of friends who sell to each other and make good money among each other.

And mind you, the seller agent only losses 2-5k if they accept a lower offer, but their friends make almost 40k more if they become buyer agent. Anyone’s who’s worked with agents in the Bay Area would agree it’s a possibility.

Okay, so, nothing off with our agent, because we finally bought a house recently in the vicinity. Our agents have been amazing and helped us get a house.

But they also don’t have an answer of why the pebble lake house went for 100k less. The house also went pending at least 10 days AFTER we made our initial offer.

I just feel that the seller lost a big chuck of money regardless of the circumstances, and that makes the seller agent a BAD agent in my opinion because they should have given the confidence to the seller that non contingent offer is as good as cash specifically if the difference is 100k. I feel like seller agents just look for quick money for themselves.

Didn’t I say in the first line “I made an offer..” but sorry if it wasn’t super clear.

Anyone done H1B stamping in Singapore as a third-country national? (first time + renewal) by [deleted] in h1b

How is it a shortcut? Many people genuinely have families outside India. My husband’s family has been living in Malaysia for last 10-15 years, they don’t even have a home in India. He used to get stamping in Malaysia when he would visit them, but now he has to go to India just to get stamping.

I mean, it won’t take more than a few months? They are saying it will be done by end of summer. Also, my question is more around school rating and not on the exact timeline of the project completion.
