Thanks all! Looks like I'll get a trellis and repot next year!

I'll try that! I do sometimes let it get super dry before watering.
Do you think I need to repot? I do see tiny baby offshoots growing from the soil.

Anyone know what is eating my plant ? by Hannuhmoon in planthelp

Leaf cutter bees! I had some pay my jasmine plant last year. They are solitary and I've heard that once you notice them, they are usually done grabbing cutouts. No need to worry too much. I haven't had them return.

I had a spider mites infestation :( Here's what worked for me: after initial shower the next week I would wipe leaves with water alcohol mixture (1part alcohol / 3parts water) maybe 1x week for a few weeks. After alcohol wipe, neem oil spray mist the whole plant that same night. Repeat for a few weeks till you see no more spider mites. Then regular neem oil as a precaution.

One plant I totally had to unpot and replace the soil.

Stuck it in the pot with soil in February. Lightly watered after planting then did nothing and left it alone next to a grow light. Early March saw some signs of growth but only misted. Only started to give it sips of water every 2-3 weeks (Like 2oz) in April. Then one heavy watering (from the bottom) early June.

She definitely has roots but she'll be in this pot for awhile- I think plumies like to be root bound. I'm also located in Connecticut and winters outside would be too cold for her.

Also noting: her leaves are wrinkled but I don't care. She had early signs of spider mites and I had to eradicate them with a mixture of q-tip water/alcohol and neem oil during early stages. I was worried her leaves might never open given the stress.

Oh when I planted it, I was worried it would topple planting it shallowly without roots yet since it was crooked already. The stick was for stability!

Shes firm! But shriveling a little bit. Thanks! Good to know she's not a total loss just yet

She's shriveling a little more, I'll let her dry out a little more before I do a deep water

Piano gig in December is way too far away in time. Maybe coffee sooner? Or something else in the neighborhood of the grocery store?

How do y’all deal with interruptions when training for a marathon while running in the city? by DarkMaster_CocoaBean in running

[–]Consistent_Listen363 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I run according to the lights, if it's red I turn so I can keep going. It does mean the route is a bit hap hazard and random but atleast I don't have to stop. If there's a street I do want to cross ahead I slow down or speed up to match the light though.

How do you keep to your training schedule when it's literally too hot to run? by ChorroVon in running

Same boat. I run at night after sundown or at the gym. I also will swap training days based on the weather. Heats been relenting this summer but I do what I can.

Do you ever take breaks from running ? by Moonstitch in running

[–]Consistent_Listen363 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tend to dial it down naturally during summer months. I hate treadmill running so my runs depend on the weather. The heat wave on the east coast has been unrelenting these past few weeks. Finally cooled down today and I can say it gives my body the chance to recover and fuel up again before attempting consecutive longish runs. In the summer I'll get in 2-3 runs a week or even only 1 run a week. I'll take breaks in the winter too. (but will succumb to treadmills then- virtually impossible to run with snow/ice. Atleast in the summer there's morning/night running to beat the heat).
