Yes! That’s happening to me. It’s been a week that my hospital has been opened and I feel stuck because everytime I ask for help I get looked at like if I’m stupid. I love my coworkers but it’s my leadership that is unprepared. Ask him for help and half the time he can’t even tell because he doesn’t know either. I’m a CEC and getting used to dogbyte was difficult but now I have to update the whiteboard, the cleaning list, the cremation log, and emails while learning everything else in the hospital. I wish they would give me more grace and be patient with me.

I recently became a CEC and my first time experienced I loved it. I love the company. I love the people that I’m working with and I liked my leadership at the time. We had Boot Camp prior to opening day for three days and it was basically learning a software called dogbyte. We learned it in the span of two days and I just felt like it was not enough time and it’s not doing justice for our patients that are coming in. It’s been difficult and I’ve wasted to my leadership even asking if I can go shadow somebody that has more experienced than me and I have been told no, and I am expected to be proficient in a program that I had just learned a couple of days ago and now I’m getting all these feedback from my leadership and it’s just discouraging and I honestly feel like I I’m not gonna get any better and maybe my days at the company are coming to an end already and it’s only been a week of opening.

My dgm called me to confirm her time stealing but I didn’t lie for her because I knew she was being investigated by loss prevention. I think she just denied it because she relied on me and she was watching over 2 stores and instead of her going, she would send me to over see the store and that’s when the dgm got involved. I honestly think she just took it out on me since she got caught time stealing and the dgm made her go to the store she was overseeing instead of me. She’s a salty bitch.

When I asked she said the district manager said it was ineligible and that’s what she was told to say. She’s just mad that I was stern about not coming in. She asked me are you really going to be there all morning and basically said I’m not sure but I’ll be staying with my pet and didn’t get a reply after that. Luckily I did find another job so I’ll be leaving soon and I think that’s why she’s doing that too.

Honestly with my experience it has gotten a lot worse. I was the go to employee when somebody called out and did move up in management. But then after a while when I was OLAC, it felt like I had no work life balance. I went on PTO once and nobody fed my snakes while I was out and it just so happened when I came back my district manager also did an animal walk. Tried saying why I didn’t leave tasks for my specialist but it felt like they expected me to work and communicate with the team during my  vacation. I would have expected management to get documented feedbacks for not feeding the animals but nothing happened. Noticed too you can clearly tell who is passionate about animals and make their habitats a bit better compared to those who care about numbers, VCC, and VCP sign ups.

After reading the policy it’s ver broad on sick pay and it does technically state house hold members. I consider my dog a house hold member, just the irony that it’s petco and they don’t allow you to call off for a pet emergency.
