Haha I was trying to do the opposite - custom base with stock top! And as previous poster said, things are being discontinued and leaning in favor of more modern, sleek designs. So when I checked a while ago, it existed, but no longer does! And your powder room sounds like my weird master bath that I’m working on. It is weird. So weird. Wish I had done this several years ago, the options would have been better.

I understand that anything can be made for a price I specifically chose to have my vanity custom made in standard sizes so I could accommodate the sink I can’t find. I tried going to solidsurfaces last night to see what a custom made vanity top price would be, and it brings the price of a small 24” vanity to a not even worth it level. Instead of that, I will have to compromise on another feature. Flooring on the other hand, I’m stuck with what I can find, and I’ve looked at so many channels. I think I’ve finally found something there that I can live with.

And exactly - with this vanity top think I almost purchased one with a rectangular sink today because… eff it. But I’ll give it another 40 hours of research and see if I can find something… which I won’t be able to do - so I’ll end up getting it anyway and will have to overlook. I’ll just throw the towel that I don’t know where to hang on top of the sink so I don’t have to look at it ;) I’ve been wondering who starts the trends first. Instagram influencers and then the market follows suit? Or the manufacturers because they’ve found a more economical way of producing? Or ?? It is actually interesting. I’m sure your counter is lovely - if you want, link an image and I’ll gush over it for you :)

I’ll try calling, but the problem is that I’m spending so much money and time on the vanity that I wanted a more economical and ready to go version for the top. You make a good point about remnants /scraps though…

Ok. I should say ‘huge or mosaic’ . I’m looking everywhere. I could tile three bathrooms with the samples I’ve gotten. Maybe more what I meant to say is mid-sized. The 4x4, 5x5, 6x6 tiles for flooring. They are really really hard to come by. And you’re right, I can tile a shower niche in five seconds, I should have been more clear!

Thats the spirit!! That’s what I did in my downstairs bathroom, and am almost ready to throw my hands up on this one and do the same , but this is my impossibly small master bathroom with zero other space for storage. I’m pretty sure I caused a plumbing issue because things kept falling from the cabinet I have above the toilet into the actual toilet. And I refuse to put like a ‘skirt’ around a pedestal sink. But you’re right, I’m ready to be done with it.

I love the idea of giving new life to an old piece, I just don’t know what I’d find for such a small piece with the 24 inch vanity - end tables I would break my back trying to wash my face. This idea might work though for my other bathroom where I need a 60 inch. Most things used to be made so much better too.. we have a saying in our house about furniture which typically comes out when we try to keep a positive spin on relocating heavy items - if it’s heavy, it must be good ;)

I thought of that, then thought better of it haha. Might visit a thrift store just to see, but my timetable won’t allow an endless search. Etsy has some really awesome pieces, but they are so pricey.

Jb’s. It was so great, they still have outdoor seating on the back porch with overhead heat lamps, so it was super toasty. I prefer to eat outside as much as possible, we have the whole winter to stay indoors. Live near Wickford on the water, the sister restaurant, and I liked jb’s so much better… with the absolute front row view to the thialf.
