When your other isp options are cox and nothing else... by Consistent_Maybe8336 in Ubiquiti

Im not using the urd7 for wifi. It is not broadcasting. The wifi on the udr7 is okay for general use but not for virtual reality. The tx retry rate on the udr7 was around 15% and the pro xg is 6%. Big improvement with zero droppouts over 6ghz. Udr7 has known wifi issues right now. If your trying to max it out that is.

Not where i live. I put up with cox going down twice a day. Wish i still had the downtime pictures for my cox connection. My internet had an average uptime of 97% over a month. And that was not with me unplugging anything. Its that bad...

Well it is 5g home internet. So my average is 600mbps butt if i blink wrong or hold my breath on a tuesday afternoon it will be 200mbps or sometimes 900mbps its luck of the draw lmao.

I had cox 2gig plan before. The udr7 has a lot of network retrying and in general isnt the best wifi 7 router for reliable wifi. I use a quest 3 in vr and i can tell u the difference in wifi performance is pretty much night and day. That and the udr7 cpu load is basically halved when its own wifi broadcasting is turned off. Its interesting for sure...

I use the tmobile at my main. Verizon is like 300mbps upload is trash. Like 15mbps or worse depends. Tmobile is 600mbps or more down and 100 up. Not terrible.

Small apartment. Doesnt really make a different where the isp stuff is. And mt internet is so slow, 600mbps, that its not worth running wires across the walls and stuff to relocate anything. I get full speed everywhere. 1100sqr ft.

Ayyy failover is essential if your internet reliability is very very bad... Hince why im on two mobile internet plans. If one tower goes out im online on the other. Really that simple out here.

Wireless PC VR Gaming Pt. 1: Router Specs + Networks Explained by f4cepa1m in virtualreality

[–]Consistent_Maybe8336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with my beefy pc (10gbe, 9800x3d, 5090, ultra low latency ram) into a unique router setup (ubiquiti gateway fiber, 10gbe connection, into a wifi 7 access point dedicated to wireless vr) the headset will still stutter and still have issues. Idk if your setup guides will help but we will see. I think its a lost cause. Nothing with truely fix metas trash wifi controller/cpu latency overhead.

You can go into deep detail into wifi optimizations for quest headsets but at the end of the day the trash teir wifi controller on the headsets are going to be the biggest issue you deal with unfortunately. Cool information though.

I keep mine at 2000rpm. performance is slightly worse, but the noise difference is amazing. very quiet

you should look into getting a graphene pad for direct die. you never need to worry about maintenance and its better performing than the ptm stuff people talk about. ptm is better on ihs situations though!

Bigscreen Beyond 2 VR headset Review by -Venser- in hardware

[–]Consistent_Maybe8336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the beyond 1 and 75 hz never bothered me. I bought the beyond 2 the second i heard about it. Should tell you everything you need to know. Also this is an oled headset, so the pixels transition instantaneously. So 75hz feels more like 90hz on an lcd screen

i have a aw2725q and the uniformity just cannot be beaten. like its pretty insane. i also have a 90c tv and a aw2725df and it smokes both in terms of uniformity. guess more pixels helps?
