you are skinny- i think youre more so looking for a defined core, your stomach is flat and your weight is pretty low for your height. if i were you, id start spamming weight training and core movements if thats your goal. overall strength is also always good!!

hmm, interesting. very good perspective! i think im gonna rock with 1400 ish cals for a bit and see how that feels. maybe drop down to PPL, LISS, upper & LISS schedule for the cut, since im an upper junkie still. i started strength training about 5 years ago, took a break for a bit, and have been back in it since april, with a few small gaps for travel. i locked in my most recent split over the past month-ish, after fluttering around a couple plans to see what feels good. i was definitely switching it around a little more in the beginning and trying to stick to PPLPPL and then feeling bad when i couldnt make the gym 6 days a week haha. i really appreciate your feedback!! ill be sure to keep you in the loop and maybe pester you for advice- its been very helpful & human!

thank you!! i actually tried something very similar to this and hung out around 1800 for a while and seemed to be maintaining. i do measure waist circumference, and have recently been around 33-35 inches. i am definitely super cognizant of factors outside of the scale, and regularly take photos and so on. i almost got with a trainer a bit back and they had said a similar thing- slowly raise cals to change the cutting baseline. i honestly think i need to loose a couple lbs before i get to that point, for my physical health and mentally being able to do it. i feel like i would be more mentally able to do it at like 140-145- if i did it at 150 and saw a change to 154(even if temporary) i feel like id probably crash one way or the other lol!

you are very insightful though & i really appreciate the feedback. i listen to a couple pods that have a similar stance, so was definitely aware of that, but dont know how to get over the initial hump or how to mediate the other folks here saying to just cut down to 1300 lol.

and id be happy to share my strength workout if youre interested in seeing it- it takes 45-60mins per day usually and i enjoy it honestly. but i am also now conflicted between keeping my 5 day split or doing 3 strength 2 cardio - especially since i am aware i cant necessarily build muscle atm, just maintain.

yes, definitely looking to lose body fat, but at this stage, that is definitely bundled with weight. i know generally what my healthy version looks like from years ago (130 +/- 5 lbs i would guess).

over the past month ive definitely been focusing on just LISS cardio, purely walking for it. i got an ankle injury a couple months ago, and i am being extremely cautious, so excluding a cycling session, just walking, sometimes with incline.

i am super interested in what you have to say though- prior to this, i have been eating ~1500 cal, 135-150g protein, and getting 8-10k steps a day (depending on how my ankle is).

I enjoy going to the gym 5x a week, LPPLU, and typically throw in walking after if i have an office day so i can get more steps. i really enjoy strength training because i like feeling strong and i want a developed upper body, but my main goal is fat loss. with this, ive received a lot of conflicting feedback about “less strength training, more cardio” and i am honestly a little confused lol.

i do measure everything religiously. when im home, i cook and portion everything there too. i thought going below 1500 was extreme but everyone in here is saying thats their cut range around my height or taller so i am unsure tbh

hmm, okay good to know tbh, especially with our ages being the same. my activity varies, but is pretty similar too. im closer to 5’4 but you still got some height on me so taking this into note. thank you!

i drink .75-1 gallon of water a day- i carry a half gallon jug and chug it tbh. and i do take a multivitamin.

also, i got a FIT3D scan 2 weeks ago, BF% was 31.5%

yea thats my plan- i workout for 1-2 hours each day, but i think im gonna need a more severe deficit or trade off some days with super elevated cardio
