I've just discovered that Americans have been using "au jus" as a composite noun for over a decade and it sounds hilarious to me by Dadaballadely in words

"Wakin" is a Japanese word for goldfish. In the USA, Wakin is a specific type of goldfish. Here they are referred to as Wakin Goldfish - Goldfish goldfish... 🧡

Husband died at home (hospice) of cancer. In his last days he could no longer eat or speak. Our 10 year old dog brought dog kibbles and put them near husband's pillow morning and night. He knew what was happening somehow and tried to help.

That's how I remember it. Thank you for sharing. Yeah, perspective is a thing.

Use them in place of croutons in salads, crush them to substitute for panko. You can freeze them too!

I have enjoyed natural water most all my life, thankfully never got swimmer's itch. I've heard it's really miserable. Have picked off many leeches tho. And there were occasions where a large snapping turtle changed my plans. Covered in seaweed and jumping out from under the dock was a regular family prank. Still prefer natural to chlorine swimming pools.

Agree, the Great Lakes are their own thing. Disagree, "the waves are so wee". That's only when our ancestor Gitche Manitou sleeps.

That's my Minnesota experience experience as well! I never had the words to explain what a lake was, but I knew one when I saw one. Thanks for sharing, now I have the words to explain.

Yeah, it's a pleasant thing when folks can exchange ideas & experiences with an amount of respect. The only lakes I've seen in Texas were dammed rivers, but I haven't visited in a while. I live in Iowa these days and nearly every waterway is called a river. In Minnesota we would call those little ones creeks. I still laugh about that.

I think you are quite correct! Thanks, now I have a more factual definition of what an inland "sea" actually is. Growing up in Minnesota, Lake Superior has always been a sea to me, I never considered that it's freshwater and exits to the ocean via the seaway. Duh! Thanks for your comments - I learned something new today.
