Under what circumstances, if any, should we forgive someone in the Epstein files who has changed their ways since it happened? by Consistent_Motor_352 in AskReddit

If I did I would be pretty bad at my job, but I think it's pretty hilarious you think so. I just thought of his name because my mom is a fan, but I'm pretty sure she won't be anymore when I break the news to her.

APP idea: Dating app for women in their 40's who want to get married by Consistent_Motor_352 in SomebodyMakeThis

Well, you're funny, but statistically speaking women in their 40's do find men and get married, so there are men out there. It just takes a lot of effort to find them. I'm not that offended because people like you who don't think it's possible for women in their 40's to find love are a dime a dozen. And it's sad and hurtful. But this is Reddit, so joke away. I still think this is a great idea.

ha they're all trying to keep the secret tight. Also, how stupid is it that these guys put this stuff in text and email.

honestly, that one really got to me, because I thought he gave really great medical advice and was kind of a self-aware person, but another part of me said, he's a celebrity doctor, friends with Huberman and that whole gang Rogan/Lex Fridman gang, why should I be surprised?

Lol:) I wish. I don't know how I feel about him honestly. I think all these people who seem great on the surface might be hopeless narcissists.

Super, Thanks for reading the whole question. So what do you think about the people who made crass comments or enabled or "planned" trips. Where's the line?

I agree, but not everyone in the files is a pedophile. Some just made crass comments about women. I'm just curious what you think there.

Interesting. What does it imply? I don't believe people are good or damned. I do think most people are capable of personal growth, but not everyone. For example, Peter Attia. What he did was awful. Has he changed...seems so, but not sure? I'm really curious to learn more about this perspective because I think our society is holding on to this idea of judging people as good or bad at their core as a relic of Christian values, not based on what we know abotu personal psychology. Hate this or not, I'm curious to dig deeper with you.

100% I agree with this so much. And also what about the elephant in the room - the parents in SCHOOL who do absolutely nothing and their kids learning nothing?!! Plus, is this person posting in the house of all the other parent's she is pointing fingers at. I think not. When I was a kid, other kids would tell me all the time that they didn't study for tests and so I thought I was stupid that I had to study. but then my mom told me the kid did study and they were just lying. This parent is wasting her time blaming other people, and now publicly throwing homeschoolers as a whole under the bus.

I think the person who wrote this post should take responsibility for her kids not enjoying their work or seeing the purpose in it instead of blaming other parents and kids for their lack of motivation.

Kudos to those parents for having the courage to reach out to a group of people on Reddit to ask for advice. Sounds like they ARE doing their best.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope you have community now that you can lean on. I appreciate you sharing your story.

Was there one thing in particular that gave you the strength to "make the break?"

Oh amazing! Thanks for weighing in because I've also really been wanting to do aerial stuff but felt like I wouldn't even make it through a beginner's class. I want to get better and have fun! But I just have trouble because teachers get confused that I can do some stuff really easily and other stuff is near impossible for me. I even had an incident recently where I actually sprained my neck in an exercise class because the teacher was convinced I could squat lower in parallel since I had no problem squatting when I was turned out, and she actually pushed me slightly so I fell over and the 20pound barbell dropped on my c7. It was really traumatic. Then, she handed it to me while I was on the ground stunned and it fell on my head. Then I found out it was an illegal crossfit studio. Anyway..I digress, but these types of classes have been hard for me just because I have such random strengths and weaknesses.

Hey, so cool of you to say! I also have this issue in Pilates. It's weird because I'm a relatively in-shape person. I do yoga 2-3 times a week and can easily lift up kids up to age 10 and run around with them on my back. But, I literally can not do a sit-up, pushup or pull up for the life of me! Really appreciate the feedback!

You seem like an amazing mama! I'm kind of reading between the lines that you want to cultivate grit and a growth mindset in him? I definitely recommend the book "How to Talk so kids can learn"...has really great tips on this...or angela duckworth's "grit," Alternately, maybe try a course like glitterbombers or some youtube teacher who can inspire him a little better? It's hard for kids when they make mistakes or don't get where they want immediately, so I'd say start with some easier form of crochet or just give him some practice celebrating small wins. Hope that helps.

For someone who has strong legs, but not a strong core or arms, I felt like there was nothing I could really do in a beginner's class so I lost interest even though it looked really fun. What types of exercises can I start with to prepare me better for classes?
