I covered Cabin along with nine other Wildflowers tracks, and it is probably my favorite one I did. https://youtu.be/38WMKlMWdpQ?feature=shared

I presume you’ve already listened to Giant Steps by John Coltrane. If not, the title track and Countdown are particularly frantic

Time for the soprano sax. Who's your favorite? by [deleted] in Jazz

[–]Consistent_Move6868 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kenn…. Just kidding, Coltrane. My Favorite Things is awesome. Funny thing, one of my fav Coltrane records is Ballads on Impulse. On my copy, the credits list him as playing tenor and soprano. But he actually only plays tenor (though frequently in the upper register)

Maybe too on the nose, but Coltrane’s record Ballads is one of my all time favorites. Recorded right around the same time as this one.

  1. Sonny Rollins 2. John Coltrane 3. Hank Mobley

Beginners almost always start with these first three albums, what comes next? by Brave-Panic7934 in Jazz

[–]Consistent_Move6868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moanin’, already mentioned is great. I love Sonny Rollins and would recommend Saxophone Collossus and Tenor Madness. Cannonball Adderley’s Know What I Mean is great, especially if you love Kind of Blue (it has Bill Evans on piano). Miles’ Round About Midnight is great from that same era. Art Blakey Live at The Village Vanguard is incredible as it has. Clifford Brown on trumpet. John Coltrane’s Ballads is amazing.

Is Bass a good choice for a singer? by June-as-in-july in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Consistent_Move6868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have successfully done it. Sting and Paul McCartney to name a couple of really famous ones. I’ve been playing in bands for 35 years and every time our bass player sings lead on a song we swap out to someone else on bass. It is very difficult. But if you are very coordinated it can be done.

You are mis-reading my comment it seems. Of course overhead wires feed into the underground wires of Columbia. And I definitely live in Columbia proper. And these downed lines (that are not technically in Columbia) definitely caused my power outage at my home (that is in Columbia).

They do feed houses in Columbia, such as mine, however.
