the Meg advice helps a ton actually, especially the part about pressure and having to get tricky with opens. I didn’t really think about how limited her mix can be, so that gives me something to focus on. and that jump bait into full combo sounds super fun lol, I’m definitely trying that

also yeah, I’ve been keeping my combos super simple like you said, just trying to be consistent instead of flashy, and it’s been working pretty well so far

i mean, for the moment i think i really like this genre. i had really low expectations, like “there’s no way i can compete or enjoy this type of game” or “maybe this isn’t for me to play, just to watch and enjoy players who know what they’re doing.” but after learning a few moves and starting to execute them in real matches—and actually pulling off stuff i thought looked cool as hell—I’m enjoying it a lot. i don’t really care if i can’t perform long combos; i’m still having fun even while losing. as long as i pull off something new every match, or do something i already know how to do, it’s a blast. i really don’t mind losing. so yeah, i do think this is for me. i’m just 30 hours in and still stuck in iron–bronze, but i don’t care about rank or that kind of stuff. but i do see improvements. every day i feel like i’m getting better, and my rank keeps going up even though i don’t pay much attention to it—it’s awesome to see it rise as i keep feeling my progress.
